AAA – 09.19.26

AAA is on Youtube this evening, with Corey Graves and John Bradshaw Layfield handling English-speaking comms. Jesus Zuniga is your ring announcer. The fallout from the tremendous two night Triplemania is still being felt, so let’s watch some lucha!

We open with Triplemania highlights, and it culminates with an extended look at El Grande Americano capturing the Mega Championship from Dominik Mysterio. Tonight’s show appears to be leftover matches from Triplemania, and we’ll start in Las Vegas.

Dinamico vs El Fiscal

Dinamico gets tripped up and he returns the favor before starting to work a side headlock. They square off and Fiscal drops Dinamico with a high boot. Dinamico gets dumped to the floor and Fiscal removes his wrist pads, and all the time that takes allows Dinamico to recover and blast away at Fiscal with lefts and rights. Dinamico works over Fiscal in a corner and drags him to mid-ring for a two count. Dinamico nails Fiscal with a dropkick and gets two. Dinamico kicks away at Fiscal, who fires up and blasts Dinamico with forearms. Fiscal hits a snap powerslam and removes his top. Fiscal hits a reverse cross-body and covers Dinamico for two. Dinamico snaps off a jawbreaker and ascends, but Fiscal catches him and yanks him up for a lofted front facebreaker. Fiscal ascends for a frog splash and that ends things.

A quick sprint to keep Fiscal strong prior to going back to a more normal rotation of touring and matches. Dinamico is a guy, much like Noisy Boy, that I’d like to see some more of moving forward. 2*

Here’s a look at Los Perros del Mal capturing the Trios titles from Los Psycho Circus. They then descended on the aftermath of the Cruiserweight title match to wreck all of those folks.

Here’s AAA Trios Champions Los Perros del Mal and Daga mentions that the dogs are loose. Angel says the clowns went back to the circus, and wonders who’s NEXT? GOD FORGIVES, THE DOGS ONLY OCCASIONALLY DO IF THE CIRCUMSTANCES MOSTLY CALL FOR IT

Graves mentions Heroes Imortales and reminds everyone that Marisela Pena will be inducted in the AAA Hall of Fame during that show in late October. Here’s a look at the recent South American WWE tour that coincided with the week of Triplemania.

Here’s Dorian Roldan backstage and he says that he thinks that what happened with Dominik Mysterio during Triplemania was very unfair, but he’s happy to announce that he will be the one inducting his mother into the Hall of Fame. Roldan mentions having a big upcoming announcement, so there’s something to look forward to.

WWE has launched a Spanish-language podcast called WWE Ahora and one of their first guests was new WWE Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer!

Here’s AAA Latin American Champion La Parka with some comments on Triplemania. He was happy to win his first defense of the Latin American title and promises this is only the beginning.

Here’s Mr. Iguana and he’s upset about being on the losing end in the Latin American title match. He’s happy for his friend La Parka but promises that friendship will take a back seat when he gets another shot. Iguana and La Yesca are off on their honeymoon, and he gives us a wink on the way out.

Here’s Andrea Barzate backstage with the newly-returned Nino Hamberguesa, who was re-introduced at the end of the Copa Bardahl. Hamberguesa is pleased to be back for his 12th Triplemania and Barzate agrees that everyone is pleased to see Nino back in the fold.

Here’s a look back at the Street Fight between El Carnicero and Psycho Clown. It ended with Pagano turning on his Los Psycho Circus teammate and showing that he is the one controlling El Carnicero, who wrecked Psycho in the aftermath of that revelation.

Here’s a look back at Omos utterly destroying Rey Mysterio at the end of Triplemania Night One. Omos then went on to win the Copa Bardahl that kicked off Night Two.

Here’s AAA GM Rey Mysterio to comment on the situation with his neck, and while he’s not wearing the brace any longer, he’s still very much not at 100%. Rey then comments on running down to cost his son the Mega Championship with the original match referee being down. Rey says the count was fair, not fast, and the result stands as he is an official of AAA. Rey then talks about Worlds Collide and lists off the card. Oba Femi will be making an appearance!

El Grande Americano’s celebration included the locker room coming out to congratulate him as Cielito Lindo played in the background.

Here’s Andrea Barzate with AAA Mega Champion El Grande Americano. He has no more words. EGA plants a huge kiss on Barzate and they leave to celebrate.

Here’s a look at La Catalina capturing the Reina de Reinas Championship from Flammer, ending her over 1100-day reign with the title. Here’s Andrea Barzate with AAA Reina de Reinas Champion La Catalina and she’s amazed at having captured the title. Catalina says it’s her time to shine, and promises a long reign spread among all the WWE brands. Here’s Roxanne Perez in to promise that Catalina’s moment ends at Worlds Collide.

AAA Mixed Tag Team Champion La Hiedra vs Faby Apache

Hiedra and Apache grapple to a standoff and put the badmouth on each other. Hiedra takes the advantage and Apache fires up to yank Hiedra into a surfboard. Apache slams Hiedra head-first into the mat, but when they go out to the floor Hiedra takes over and rams Apache into the ring steps. Hiedra runs Apache back in and gets two. Hiedra rams Apache into a corner and puts some stink on a Hip Attack. Apache fires up with a knee and then sends Hiedra to the floor with a high boot. Apache snaps off a rana and runs Hiedra back in. Apache ascends and hits a cross-body for two. Apache grabs a double underhook but Hiedra breaks out and snaps off a front facebreaker that gets two. Hiedra gets O’Connor rolled around the ring and Apache slaps on an armbar. Hiedra makes the ropes to break it up. Apache runs into a Michinoku Driver and that ends things with the quickness.

Goddamn, Hiedra SPIKED Apache on that Michinoku Driver. There wasn’t much to this as Apache had most of the offense leading up to the finish, but what a finish it was. 2.5*

Winner – La Hiedra (Michinoku Driver)

Hiedra celebrates mid-ring, the credits roll, and we’re out.

I’m sure you surmised that this was strictly a placeholder show to set us back up for a more normal touring schedule. The two matches were fairly inconsequential, but if you like highlights segments, this show was your jam.
