WWE Main Event – 9.10.26

We did it again, we made it to Thursday night! Our reward is WWE’s A-show, Main Event. Tonight, we have a wrestling making their first Main Event appearance in almost a decade and three others who have been making some moves in Evolve. Let’s check it out.

Big Cass vs Brooks Jensen

Well, Big Cass is an interesting one for my research and telling history about previous Main Event appearances. We last saw the big man on Main Event back 3,438 days ago on April 12, 2017. Accompanied by Enzo Amore, he defeated future WWE Hall of Famer Titus O’Neil. He first appeared back on this show back on its 189th episode (May 11, 2016) in a quick defeat of Curtis Axel. The main event of that show? Baron Corbin defeating Zack Ryder. Even more fun is that a fourth man from that episode – Cody Rhodes – is also active in 2026 WWE. Time is wild.

Then there is Brooks Jensen. Brooks was last on Main Event back in October 2024 in a loss to Tavion Heights, but actually made his Main Event debut back in October 22. He and his NXT 2.0 partner Josh Briggs defeated R-Truth and Shelton Benjamin which is kind of a surprising result (no offense if you are reading this, Brooks). I’m a big Brooks fan and he’s a big fan of wrestling in general. His Twitter account is a fun follow.

Brooks is the hometown boy here as commentary reminds us that Jensen’s father is Bull Buchanan, something I probably knew but have forgotten about. Brooks dodges Cass in the corner until Cass elbows him to the mat. Cass dodges Brooks who crashes hard into the ropes and to the outside where Cass smacks him and tosses him back in. Blake wonders who could be next on the Big Cass hit list on Raw. Boy I can hardly wait to find out. Easy pickings for Cass after that, tossing Brooks around with fallaway slams and nailing him with a corner splash. Cass trash talks Jenson who slaps him, something that doesn’t end well for Jensen. Jensen dodges a splash in the corner and nails Cass with a beautiful spin heel kick, taking the big man to the mat. Jensen flies from the top right into the boot on Cass, who covers and gets the pin. Big Cass wins on Main Event for the first time in almost a decade.

Big Cass pins Brooks Jensen. Brooks looked good as the underdog here but the result wasn’t in doubt. It was a good showing for Big Cass.

LWO (Joaquin Wilde and Cruz Del Toro) vs Viktor Zanov and Shido Ash

The LWO boys are regulars here with five previous Main Event appearances in 2026, most recently defeating Harlem Lewis and Harley Riggins on the July 30th episode. Viktor is in his rookie year of wrestling with only 26 matches to his name prior to tonight’s match. Only two of those matches have been televised but he is on a Goldberg-like 2-0 streak alongside his partner Ash. Most recently, the pair defeated the Mog Squad on an August episode of Evolve. Shido just passed a year active and has only hit 25 career matches, though he has had an additional three matches on WWE LFG under the name of Shady Elnahas. He lost a match a few months back on LFG to Braxton Cole but still sits at a respectable 4-1 television record.

Well, first impressions. One of them wears Steamboat-style gear while the other wears a papakha. Both teams do some basic tussling before Wilde spins Zanov around with a flying spin. Ash knees Wilde in the back to let Zanov get an advantage as Saxton tells us an actual backstory for the Evolve boys, telling us they were Judo opponents before forming a team of allies in the Performance Center. The LWO are able to get control again, knocking Ash to the outside and kicking Zanov down for the easy pin. The streak is over for Viktor.

Joaquin WIlde and Cruz Del Toro defeat Viktor Zanov and Shido Ash. Zanov and Ash have a long way to go, but they aren’t even at thirty matches in their careers yet. A basic tag match.
