Swerve Strickland Could Return To AEW From Injury Very Soon

A report has surfaced stating that we could be seeing the return of former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland imminently.

Fightful Select reported on the recovery timeline of Strickland and stated that his rehabilitation is going as it should, and if it continues to go well, he could be looking at a “winter return”. If this report is correct, Strickland could be back on AEW TV in time for pay-per-view events such as Full Gear on November 22 or Worlds End on December 27.

Strickland has been dealing with a torn meniscus injury since August and had to undergo surgery to repair the issue. His last match was at Forbidden Door on August 24, where he lost to Kazuchika Okada in a match for the AEW Unified Title. Following said match, Strickland was written off of TV to allow him time to get the surgery and to recover.

When Did Swerve Strickland Win The AEW World Title?

Swerve Strickland won the AEW World Championship at the Dynasty pay-per-view on April 21, 2024, by defeating then-champion Samoa Joe. Strickland defended the title six times before losing it to Bryan Danielson in a career vs. title match at All In the same year. Strickland has also held the AEW World Tag Team Championship with Keith Lee back in 2022.
