Dominik Mysterio Admits Stealing From Rey Mysterio

Dominik Mysterio has admitted that he used to steal his dad’s cars and watches.

After a successful run as a father-son tag team, Dominik Mysterio turned on Rey Mysterio at Clash at the Castle in 2022, leaving his father to join The Judgment Day. The pair later feuded, culminating in Rey defeating Dominik at WrestleMania 39.

The pair’s onscreen relationship has never recovered from Dominik’s treatment of his dad throughout their rivalry. Now, it appears that Dominik actually turned heel on Rey a lot earlier in his life.

During an appearance on the Club 520 Podcast, Dominik revealed that he used to steal watches and drive Rey’s cars before he even had a license, something he now admits “wasn’t the smartest decision.”

“I used to steal my dad’s watches before I got my own. I would steal his watches, I would steal his cars too, as a kid. Just drive out and about. I was always taking pop’s stuff. He had some good stuff. I would walk around and they’d be like, ‘How did you get that?’ ‘I worked hard.’ Worked hard sneaking in and making sure he didn’t hear me in the middle of the night.

“He used to have an Audi R8, I put all the miles in it. He was gone and I told my mom, ‘I’m going to school,’ and she didn’t know which car. I just grabbed the Audi and bounced. I didn’t have a license, either. By the time they would call me, I’m already down the freeway, ‘Sorry, I gotta get to school.’ Looking back, it wasn’t the smartest decision.”

At SummerSlam, Dominik Mysterio successfully defended the Intercontinental Championship against AJ Styles in a night that also saw Cody Rhodes regain the Undisputed WWE Championship and the shock return of Brock Lesnar.
