Could 2027 Be the End of the Road for Rey Mysterio?
WWE is reportedly considering a retirement storyline for Rey Mysterio in 2027, with WrestleVotes claiming behind-the-scenes discussions have begun about how to give the legendary luchador a fitting farewell. Mysterio, who has wrestled for 37 years and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2023, has not confirmed any retirement plans. Speaking to BANG Showbiz earlier this year, Mysterio said he was enjoying his current role and preferred to take his career as it comes. During an August appearance on What’s Your Story? with Stephanie McMahon, he admitted that retirement could happen unexpectedly but insisted he did not currently feel ready to step away from wrestling.
Ari Emanuel Says WWE Crown Jewel In Riyadh Is ‘Still Set,’ TKO Team Monitoring Where It Could Move
TKO executive chair and CEO Ari Emanuel has confirmed that WWE Crown Jewel remains scheduled for November 7 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, despite ongoing security concerns in the region. Speaking to Fox News’ Bret Baier on Thursday, Emanuel said preparations for the event are continuing, although TKO is monitoring developments daily amid US State Department warnings that American businesses could be targeted.
Emanuel said a dedicated team is assessing the situation and exploring alternative locations if the event needs to be moved. He also noted that other TKO-related events, including an upcoming UFC show in Abu Dhabi and a Frieze art exhibition in November, remain scheduled. While acknowledging the possibility of relocating Crown Jewel, Emanuel stressed that nothing has been cancelled and current plans remain unchanged.
WWE’s Big E & Mia Yim’s sister get married
Former WWE Champion Big E, real name Ettore Ewen, married Kris, the sister of WWE star Mia Yim, on Wednesday after the couple became engaged in May 2025. The ceremony was attended by wrestlers from WWE, AEW and TNA, including Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch, Kofi Kingston and Austin Creed. According to Bryan Alvarez, the wedding was the reason Kingston and Creed missed this week’s AEW Dynamite.
The couple began dating in April 2024 and announced their engagement on May 5, 2025. It marks the first marriage for Big E, 40, who officially retired from professional wrestling in October 2025 following a broken neck suffered during a match against Ridge Holland. He remains involved with WWE through on-screen hosting duties and college recruitment tryouts.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
