The SmarK Rant for AEW Dynamite – 10.05.22
Live from Washington, DC, with a rather small looking crowd tonight. They really need to try some new markets on the West Coast or something.
Your hosts are Excalibur, Taz & Tony Schiavone
The SmarK Rant for Coliseum Video presents George “The Animal” Steele
For those keeping track, I’m using the WWE Network version of this one because my copy is pretty janky. Now I’m just waiting for chrisH to jump in and be like “They actually cut out a **** hidden gem with Antonio Inoki from New Japan in 1983 on that version and put in an ice cream bar factory skit instead for music licensing reasons.”
The SmarK Rant for WWE Live in Saskatoon – 10.02.22
So after being originally scheduled for January of this year and delayed due to whatever wacky reason they eventually settled on (Potential winter storms I think it was? Something with Covid?) we finally got a return to Saskatoon for WWE, the first time since February 2019, before the pandemic.
Coliseum Video Rant 2018 – Most Unusual Matches!
(Someone in the comments keeps asking for this one, so here’s the rant I did in 2018 for the WWE Network version. I’ll probably do a new version of Even More Unusual Matches tomorrow night to satisfy my OCD.)
So yeah, sadly the classic Coliseum Video intro music has been purged and replaced with generic fanfare music instead. So disappointing.
Hosted by Jesse Ventura. Frankly I’m shocked they didn’t have him digitally blurred out, too.
The SmarK Rant for Mid-South Wrestling – 05.08.82
Last week: Ted Dibiase returns and beats North American champion Bob Roop in a non-title match to get some revenge! Also Skandor Akbar brings in this Hacksaw Jim Duggan guy as a mercenary, which surely means more trouble for Dibiase. Luckily he’ll soon be getting a “sanctified” title shot at Roop thanks to matchmaker Grizzly Smith.
The SmarK Rant for Coliseum Video presents The Life and Times of Captain Lou Albano
I can’t imagine this can possibly anything be approaching any semblance of good, but it’s one of the OG Coliseum tapes and one of the few that I haven’t seen yet, along with the Best of George Steele one that’s also on my list. So…let ‘er rip, I guess.
The SmarK Rant for AEW Rampage – 09.23.22
LOL, Bobby Fish tries to organize an exodus from AEW, ends up fired and in Impact Wrestling instead.
“Grand Slam: Rampage”
Taped from New York City
Your hosts are Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, Excalibur & ROH World champion Chris Jericho
Fite actually has this broken up into two parts for ease of digestion, I guess.
