Hello You!

Last week we enjoyed some great matches from the ECW Tag Team Title Tournament at the Hammerstein Ballroom, but sadly they decided to finish that one off on TNN, meaning we have to enjoy some stuff from Night Two on the 26th of August instead. I do actually own both nights of this double header (Called “Ballroom Blitz” by RF Video) but it’s only fan-cam footage. Maybe when we finally reach the end of these Hardcore TV reviews I can blow the whole thing off with a review of both nights? I’m sure I have the VHS’ somewhere (Oh yes, that’s how far back it was when I got them)

Anyway, chins up and all that, let’s watch some chuffing wrestling!

Well, we’ve finally hit the Hammerstein Ballroom tapings that ECW has been building up to for the past month!

We’ve got a Tag Title Tournament and all other kinds of hijinks on the docket, so let’s watch some chuffing wrestling!

This is the last Hardcore TV until we start seeing footage from the Hammerstein shows on the 25^th and 26^th of August. Today we’re getting footage from the ECW Arena show, with Scotty Anton Vs Steve Corino as a feature bout.

Corino is due to be getting a shot at Justin Credible on the 26^th of August, so they will likely want to make him look strong here so that fans are interested in him challenging for the belt.

Let’s see if they succeed as we watch some chuffing wrestling!

More ECW Hardcore TV, as we are just a couple of weeks away from a big pair of shows at the Hammerstein Ballroom.

Last week was a decent show, with a strong Main Event between Rob Van Dam and Kid Kash. RVD tops the bill again this week with Balls Mahoney. Will he deliver again?

I wouldn’t go as far to say that Justin Credible’s Title run has gotten “good” as such, but he’s had a couple of fun matches the past couple of weeks, so he’s got that to hang his hat on at least.

Heatwave 2000 is in the books, with Justin Credible managing to hold on to the ECW Title. I wonder who they will find to challenge him next?

ECW have done a decent 6 weeks or so of hype for this show so I’m actually looking forward to it. Hopefully the show delivers. There are certainly some matches here that have the potential for being good provided they get enough time and everyone’s performances are on point.

Let’s see whether ECW’s big event of the summer will be a sizzling success or a blasé burnout.

It’s the go-home show for Heatwave 2000 today. I should have that show up tomorrow as well, so keep a look out for it.

It’s time for another ECW pay per view, one of which I thankfully have the official Laser Light Digital version of so I can enjoy it with all the real music and whatnot. If I recall there is a really random edit in one of the matches that never made any sense to me, but we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.

This event hasn’t been promoted all that great, with a paltry three matches officially announced on the go-home show. I’ve not bothered to go back and check what the buy rate was, but I imagine few outside of the ECW diehards were going to bother buying a show where more than half the card hadn’t been confirmed in advance. That might still mean that the show defeats WCW Slamboree 2000 though, as when it comes to having barely any of the card announced or a full card with David Arquette defending his World Title in the Main Event, the former is likely to do better than the latter.
