WWE Reportedly Calls Meeting Due To Lower-Than-Expected WrestleMania 42 Ticket Sales
WWE has reportedly held a company-wide meeting to address slower-than-expected ticket sales for WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas. Current figures show around 36,000 tickets distributed for each night, which is behind last year’s pace when WrestleMania 41 had already sold roughly 10,000 more per night by the same point.
According to reports, departments were instructed to introduce new promotions and strategies to boost attendance, though WWE has no plans to lower ticket prices, with the cheapest seats still above $260. The company has also restricted watch parties within 50 miles of the stadium, a move that has frustrated local venues. At present, the only confirmed match for the event is Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship.
After various news outlets reported a story told by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio that WBD pulled Brody King from Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite due to concerns over the ICE chants on the previous show, WBD responded and said that they did not pull King from the show and that any rumours regarding this are categorically false.
IShowSpeed teases WWE WrestleMania 42 appearance
Streamer IShowSpeed has hinted at a possible appearance at WrestleMania 42, saying fans “may be seeing” him at the event, though he joked that he is not eager to get beaten up again.
Speaking on Yahoo Sports Daily, Speed reflected on his surprise appearance in the 2025 Royal Rumble, where he eliminated Otis before being speared by Bron Breakker and thrown out. He also referenced taking an RKO from Randy Orton at WrestleMania 40, and laughed off questions about training, saying his “special training” comes from streaming.
Mercedes Mone Is Undergoing Stem Cell Treatment In Mexico
Mercedes Mone is focusing on recovery during her time away from the ring after losing the TBS Championship to Willow Nightingale at the end of 2025. Mone revealed on Instagram that she is undergoing stem cell treatment in Cancun and has also visited a spa in Los Angeles as part of her self-care routine, saying she wants to return “better than ever.”
While her AEW return date is unknown, she is scheduled for several appearances in March, including indie bookings in France and Canada, along with a CMLL appearance in Mexico on March 6.
