Morning Daily News Update

By Conor Renshaw on 2 September 2025

Morning, all!

It’s Morning Daily News time again! We’ve had a lot of new stuff from the blog to start off the week yesterday. First, we have Alex Podgorski’s latest (Almost) 5-Star Match Review, second is Garth Holmberg’s latest AWA Championship Wrestling Review, third up is Jabroniville’s newest Joshi Spotlight, our fourth piece of new content is LScisco’s latest WTWWW for WWF Wrestling Challenge on May 8, 1994, and finally, Kat has uploaded the review of last night’s episode of Raw.

WWE issues storyline medical update on Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman

Following the beatdown on Roman Reigns by The Vision at Clash in Paris on Sunday, WWE has updated on Reigns’ status on last night’s Raw, stating that Reigns has suffered “multiple fractured ribs at the hands of Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed” and that “The OTC Roman Reigns is out indefinitely.” It has been said by various news outlets that this injury angle was used as a way to write Reigns out of the storyline for at least a month so that he can head to Australia to film his part in the upcoming Street Fighter movie.

AJ Lee Return Teased On WWE Raw

WWE teased the return of AJ Lee last night on Raw as a promo segment between Becky Lynch and CM Punk ended with Lynch slapping Punk and him saying to her, “You’re gonna regret putting your hands on me.” After the segment, Punk was stopped by Raw GM Adam Pearce as he hunted backstage for both Seth Rollins and Lynch, and Pearce told him that they had already left the venue and to go after them on next week’s Raw. Punk then asked Pearce where the next SmackDown would be taking place, and Pearce said Chicago, Punk and Lee’s hometown. Punk chuckled, patted Pearce on the shoulder and said “tremendous” before walking away.

Women’s World Championship Match Set For WWE Wrestlepalooza

The upcoming Wrestleplaooza pay-per-view has had its second match confirmed as Iyo Sky will face Stephanie Vaquer for the vacant Women’s World Championship. The match was confirmed last night on Raw to happen at the event on September 20. The title was vacated by Naomi on the August 18 episode of Raw after she announced that she was pregnant with her and Jimmy Uso’s first child.

Report: WWE Has Interest In Signing The Righteous

Fightful Select reported that WWE could be looking to bring in former AEW tag team The Righteous after the pair left AEW earlier this year in May. The pair primarily competed on AEW Collision and in Ring of Honor, and previously held the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Title.
