Shooting on Dusty

Hey Scott,

In one of your recent Observer Flashbacks you note that, when Dusty Rhodes was making his way into the WWF in 1989, guys were literally lining up to shoot on him. My question is, why? I mean, I know he was the booker down south for years, and tended to put himself over, but that’s not unique to Dusty. Did he have a reputation for being bad to the workers he booked, or something? Or was this just the usual "fuck this guy because he used to be the boss" stuff?

​Well I mean, Dusty didn’t exactly make a lot of friends on the way out, and I think it’s kind of the same situation like when a prison guard does something and ends up having to be in jail with the other prisoners he abused for years, ya know? ​
