Harts vs Mega Powers

After reading Rock Star Gary’s SNME review, why on earth didn’t Vince break records with a Harts/Mega Powers tag title feud. I know this was the pre-"wacky tag partners who hate each other" era, but man, that could’ve been a golden few months. Instead the Harts lost the titles to Strike Force at a TV taping with no build? Was Vince so in love with Demolition by late 87, that he needed a plucky face team to get destroyed at WM4?

​Well, I mean, we think of Strike Force as transitional champions, but they held the titles for six months. Hogan was never going to lower himself to working with Bret Hart in 1987, and legitimately so because the Harts weren’t main eventers and you’re wasting money on that kind of feud. And yes, Vince was in love with Demolition, and Strike Force mostly existed because Vince seemingly wanted to push Rick Martel to spite Tom Zenk​. At least that’s always been Zenk’s theory.
