Lucha Underground Update
The promotion will begin taping season four in October 2017, which was moved back from this past Spring. It’s also been said that this has hurt morale of the wrestlers as it will extend the seven season contracts most of the wrestlers are under since its not expected to air until sometime in 2018.

Drew Galloway Update
Galloway’s contract with TNA expires in mid-February of 2017. TNA offered him a contract but Galloway declined because of the exclusivity deal where TNA would be in charge of his outside bookings.

Vince was probably feeling pretty good at this point. Sid was signed and debuted to a big pop, WCW was self-destructing before his eyes, and the Hogan-Slaughter program was doing pretty good business. Yup, things were pretty good and 1991 was shaping up to be a fine year for wrestling and the WWF in particular.
Oh, except for one, little, teensy tiny legal matter. I don’t think it’ll have any direct affect on the promotion, because why would it? Besides, he’s a DOCTOR. He writes prescriptions and everything. You may have heard of him.
Get used to it, because we’re going to be hearing a LOT about Dr. George Zahorian for the next year or so.

Scott,
Which wrestlers have had the biggest influence for the in-ring product? For example, Ken Shamrock added "tapping out" and to a lesser degree Flair’s chops. Jimmy Snuka’s high flying? Steiners’ suplexes?
Shamrock was definitely a big factor in merging in a lot of elements from MMA that are commonplace today. Also, I’d vote for Steve Austin & The Rock, and even Kurt Angle, who essentially created the foundation of WWE Style that persists to this day in the main event.

I know you’ve never been a fan of Lesnar ending the streak…..but if things had played out differently after, would you have looked at it in a better light?
What I mean is, instead of doing Taker/Wyatt and the sumemrslam/hell in a cell matches waaaay after the mania encounter, why not do Taker/Lesnar II at the very next mania with Taker in the role HBK was in a few years earlier. Taker becomes obsessed with beating Lesnar so he puts his career on the line. Taker of course losses.
In the grand scheme of things it would make sense to me. Lesnar was the one guy he could never beat, so him ending his career and the streak would make all the sense in the world.
I just don’t feel like the Streak ever actually NEEDED to end. It was pretty much an unlimited cash cow for Wrestlemania, every year, that instantly gave every Undertaker match at least some amount of drama going into it. You can milk that as many times as you want, but you only get to end it once, and now it’s gone forever.
But yeah, Taker definitely should have come roaring out all fists and fire, angry about losing or at least mentioning it.

Monday Night Raw

We’re just over a month away from Summerslam but more importantly, HHH is now officially on Raw. I know it’s not the best sounding thing in the world but at this point, Raw is absolutely dying for star power and HHH gives them a top name. Booker T., Rob Van Dam and Ric Flair are big names but they’re not top level stars at this point, making HHH a necessary evil. Let’s get to it.

is that when they come up with a potentially great angle, they don’t go all the way with it.
So last night Miz finally outed Renee and Ambrose as a couple, and earned a slap to the face for his trouble.
The obvious comparison to that is the Rude / Roberts angle. Except there, where the heel went after the face’s woman (admittedly, Rude grabbed Cheryl while Miz didn’t touch Renee), the face immediately ran out and tried to kill him to death.
Here, Renee slaps Miz… and Dean does NOTHING. Kind of the same deal as how they’d never let Cena actually be a super-face and save his friends when they were getting the crap kicked out of them, but worse.
I just don’t get the way they think sometimes.
Yeah, imagine someone pulling that shit with Debra in 2001 and expecting Steve Austin to just be watching on the monitor later and laughing it off. Steve would immediately come out and WHOOP SOME ASS. I think it also speaks to the general issue with Dean Ambrose being too laid-back as a character and not having any fire. Renee slapping Miz should have been immediately followed by Dean storming into the segment and smashing a damn chair on his head or something! He was more upset about his damn potted plant earlier this year!
Most of this is indeed the writers, but I think Dean would really benefit from pushing harder for his character as well. Vince respects that and would probably support him if he wanted to have his character defend his girlfriend’s honor.

It’s time to start the build towards “Takeover: San Antonio” as we have a four way elimination match to crown a new #1 contender. Tonight it’s Bobby Roode vs. Andrade Cien Almas vs. Tye Dillinger vs. Roderick Strong for the shot at Shinsuke Nakamura in January. We’ve also got Daria Berenato vs. Billie Kay in a revenge match. Let’s get to it.
