Drew McIntyre Expected To Remain With WWE Through WrestleMania 44

An update has been provided on when Drew McIntyre‘s current WWE deal is set to expire.

After former WWE head writer Vince Russo recently made an offer for Drew McIntyre to come and work for Juggalo Championship Wrestling, a promotion founded by the Insane Clown Posse and invested in by Russo back in October, it has now come to light that McIntyre may not be free to work anywhere else for quite some time.

Figthful Select has reported that the contract McIntyre signed last year will see him remain with WWE until at least WrestleMania 44 in 2028. The report also stated that McIntyre had spoken about how he wanted to work for JCW when he was working the independent scene, but an arrangement to bring him in was never made.

What Is Drew McIntyre Doing In WWE Now?

Drew McIntyre is currently feuding with Cody Rhodes over the Undisputed WWE Championship, and he recently faced Rhodes in a match for the title at Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1. McIntyre was unable to win the title and has been unable to capture a world title in the company since he won the World Heavyweight Championship on night two of WrestleMania 40 and lost it almost immediately after Damian Priest cashed in his Money in the Bank contract.

Prior to his World Heavyweight Championship win, McIntyre held the WWE Championship on two occasions in 2020, the first time he defeated Brock Lesnar on night two of WrestleMania 36, and the second time he won it back from Randy Orton on the November 16 episode of Raw after Orton dethroned him at Hell in a Cell on October 25.
