Bret Hart Names CM Punk “The Best Wrestler In The World Today”

Bret Hart believes CM Punk is the best in the world.

CM Punk’s love for Bret Hart is well-known, with the voice of the Voiceless having made it clear that he thinks The Hitman is the greatest of all time. Punk has previously revealed that Hart is a mentor to him, and even carries an action figure of the legendary star everywhere he goes.

During an interview with Complex Sports, Hart reciprocated the feeling, naming Punk above the likes of Rey Mysterio and Roman Reigns as the best wrestler in the world today.

“There’s a lot of really good wrestlers. I mean, I’m a forever Rey Mysterio fan. I love watching Rey even now today, especially as he gets older.

“But I’m also a big fan of Roman Reigns, and I think if I had answered the question, I’d say CM Punk.”

CM Punk Proved Himself At WWE SummerSlam… Briefly

In the main event of SummerSlam Saturday, CM Punk and Gunther went to war over the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. After withstanding an onslaught from The Ring General, Punk emerged victorious with his first WWE Title in over a decade.

His time at the top didn’t last long, though, as Seth Rollins came out to the stage and revealed he had faked his knee injury all along. After throwing away his crutches, The Visionary ran to the ring and cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on Punk. After attacking him with the briefcase, Rollins hit a Stomp and pinned Punk, cutting his reign short at only a few minutes.
