Jake Roberts Says He Has Re-Signed With WWE After AEW Exit
WWE Hall of Famer Jake “The Snake” Roberts has revealed that he has re-signed with WWE following his departure from AEW earlier this year. Speaking on Nick Club Wrestling Happy Hour, Roberts confirmed that he is already working with WWE, although he did not disclose the nature of his new role. Roberts, who joined AEW in 2020 and primarily managed Lance Archer, praised Tony Khan personally but criticised the company’s creative direction, suggesting its talent could be better utilised.
He also said he was frustrated that Archer never got the opportunities he deserved. Roberts previously returned to WWE for a SummerSlam fan event in July. Elsewhere in the interview, he named Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton as wrestlers who reminded him of himself and revealed that an early throat injury influenced his famously quiet promo delivery.
Dave Bautista’s New Look Revealed
Former WWE star Dave Bautista has gained 20 pounds in preparation for his role as Kratos in Amazon’s upcoming God of War television series. Bautista revealed on Instagram that he has spent the past two months weight training, bringing his weight to 250 pounds. He was cast in August after original star Ryan Hurst suffered a stunt-related injury that required surgery and an extended recovery period, forcing production to pause before the role was recast.
Developed by Ronald D. Moore, the series has received a two-season order, with both seasons scheduled to film back-to-back. Based on the popular video game franchise, the story follows Kratos and his son Atreus, played by Callum Vinson, on a journey to scatter the ashes of their wife and mother, Faye. The cast also includes Mandy Patinkin, Ed Skrein and Ólafur Darri Ólafsson.
Cody Rhodes says Jason Momoa and Street Fighter cast welcome in WWE
Cody Rhodes has extended an open invitation to his Street Fighter co-stars to make appearances in WWE, singling out Jason Momoa and Olivier Richters as potential guests. Speaking on The Rich Eisen Show, Rhodes praised Momoa’s fit for professional wrestling and encouraged the film’s cast to explore opportunities with WWE. He particularly highlighted seven-foot-tall actor Richters, who portrays Zangief, suggesting his imposing size would make him a natural fit for a wrestling appearance.
Rhodes said WWE welcomes celebrity involvement and hoped his co-stars would experience his wrestling career firsthand. The upcoming Street Fighter film also features Roman Reigns as Akuma and NJPW wrestler Hirooki Goto as E. Honda.
