The Main Event Rewind: WWE Main Event – 10.08.26
By Kat Bourne on 8 October 2026
Here we are, Thursday night again. That means it is time for the A-show, Main Event. For the last time, Main Event is broadcasting in the U.S. on YouTube. Well, at least until the next deal ends and they throw it back on there. For now though, Main Event is heading to the streaming platform Rumble next week. Some of the top 50 most viewed videos on the site tonight include “The rainbow plaque is coming, “a dark warning for the US,” and “Q News Review.” All fifty of the most watched videos tonight are political and/or religious. Sounds like a pleasant place! Tonight though, we’re still on the wonderful world of YouTube. It’s also the last week of this being on Thursdays as it moves to Wednesday next week. Watch out, Dynamite!
The last week in WWE: Main Event / Impact / SmackDown / Lucha Libre AAA / Raw / NXT / Evolve
Then, Now, Forever, Together.
THIS is the Enterprise Center in St. Louis as well as the Ball Arena in Denver. Vic Joseph and Blake Howard welcome us to the show. Alicia Taylor and Mark Nash are on the ring mics tonight.
Shinsuke Nakamura (with Kyoki) vs The Miz (with Kit Wilson)
This is a most interesting match because these are two big names for Main Event and one of them has a long history with the show. Shinsuke is wrestling for only the second time in his ten-year WWE career on Main Event. Kit Wilson was his opponent the previous time with Nakamura winning back in December 2025. The Miz, however, has a crazier Main Event history and I want to deep dive on it a bit.
Miz appeared on the third episode ever of Main Event back on October 17, 2012. That match went 19:41 and was the first title change in the show’s history as Miz lost the Intercontinental Title to Kofi Kingston. There have only been five other title changes, all the 24/7 Championship in one episode on Main Event (Doudrop, Tozawa, R-Truth, Nikki A.S.H. and Dana Brooke if you were wondering), in the show’s long run. He has competed on the show eighteen times since, including wins over fellow former world champions Cody Rhodes and Dolph Ziggler. He even won a handicap match against the Prime Time Players. The weird thing though? His last Main Event match before tonight was in December 2015. That’s right, Miz has been active almost eleven years since the last time he was thrown onto Main Event. Some quick Cagematch math says that he has wrestled 781 matches since his last Main Event match. Wild numbers.
Miz and Kit both have 20th anniversary Miz tees tonight. Shinsuke pounds away at Miz early and rips his anniversary shirt off which is rude. Miz tosses Nakamura to the apron and distracts the ref as Cute Kit pulls Shinsuke off the apron. Kyoki chases Kit who leaps into the timekeeper’s area. Miz leaps from the top with an ax handle for a two as commentary wonders if Miz is still cursed. Miz lays in the Miz Kicks and Nakamura ducks the last, sending Miz running before they take each other down with a double clothesline.
Nakamura sets Miz up on the rope and slides under him with a sliding German suplex. Nakamura heads up top and Miz distracts, Miz rolling under with a DDT. Miz tries for Skull Crushing Finale, Nakamura rolls him up for a two. Shinsuke sets up his kick and Kit grabs his leg, giving Miz a chance to roll him up for two. Kyoki runs up the stairs and leaps off the apron onto Miz, giving Shinsuke a chance to smack Miz with the Kinshasa for the three.
Shinsuke Nakamura pins The Miz. A really FUN match between two guys that are really good at all of this. This one is worth giving your ten minutes. I assume we’ve worked up to a tag match which will also be good.
Maxxine Dupri (with WWE World Tag Team Champion Austin Theory) vs Andi Summers
Maxxine too is a regular around here. This is her ninth match on the show this year. She defeated Chantel Monroe just last week and is looking to extend her winning stream to three. Andi Summers is a newbie, making her WWE television debut here before ever appearing on an episode of Evolve or NXT. It’s her eleventh match under the WWE label and the first one outside of Florida (not counting WWE ID matches that have been on other company’s shows).
Maxxine attacks as Andi comes in. They trade pin attempts as Blake notes Andi has eight years experience, more than Maxxine. Andi nails a dropkick from behind and a basement clothesline for a two count. Theory grabs Andi’s leg and Maxxine kicks her down. Maxxine slows it down with a long knee to Andi’s back before Summers powers out, flipping and hitting a flurry of clotheslines. Andi hits a beautiful moonsault for a two count. Maxxine is able to rock Summers with a big kick. Theory hops on the apron and Andi confronts him. As the ref is distracted, Maxxine hits Maxxed Out and a leaping leg drop for the easy pin.
Maxxine Dupri pins Andi Summers. Andi looked good here but Maxxine was a good matchup for her. Maxxine has become pretty good at this.
Big Cass vs Sean Legacy
Large Cass is becoming a regular feature around this show, making his third appearance in the last month with previous wins over Brooks Jensen and Josh Briggs. Sean Legacy has been here once before, teaming with Dorian Van Dux in a loss to the Creeds back in July.
Vic gives Blake hell about how Vic is the only one under the 205-pound cruiserweight limit and how Cass keeps attacking cruiserweights so he is scared but Blake should be okay. He also notes Blake has more facial hair which makes him more intimidating and less likely to be attacked by Cass. Cass goes in hard on Legacy, booting him and unloading on him in the corner with a splash. Vic says Cass is trying to show off his strength and that “you can’t teach that.” I’ve heard that somewhere before. Cass continues stomping Legacy down, yelling that he owns this. Cass chokes Legacy on the ropes before locking Sean into a submission. Sean gets tossed across the ring but rolls out of the way of the Empire Elbow. Legacy superkicks Cass and dodges a running charge. Sean springboards in with a dropkick and only gets a one count. Sean leaps outside onto Cass who catches him, shoves him into the apron and elbows him in the face. Back in, Cass boots Sean inside out for the easy pin.
Big Cass pins Sean Legacy. This was almost a squash match but that is what Cass needs right now. He looked good here. Will it translate to letting him do more without losing on the main roster? We’ll see.
