The WWE Main Event Rewind – 10.01.26

By Kat Bourne on 1 October 2026

October is here so we’re in spooky season, but it is never too scary for another edition of Main Event on YouTube. This week, we have some surprising names making an appearance on the A-show.

The last week in WWE: Main Event / Impact / SmackDown / Lucha Libre AAA / Raw / NXT / Evolve

Then, Now, Forever, Together.

THIS is Milwaukee, Wisconsin’s Fisery Center as well as Indianapolis, Indiana’s Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Vic Joseph and Blake Howard welcome us on commentary while Alicia Taylor and Mark Nash are on the ring mics.

Kyoki (with Shinsuke Nakamura) vs Axiom (with Nathan Frazier)

Is it weird that this is Kyoki’s fourth television match since joining WWE and two of them have been on Main Event? It feels weird. He last appeared on this show back on September 17th by defeating Kit Wilson. Axiom is another regular here, making his tenth appearance on the show in 2026. Just a week ago, he teamed with Frazier to defeat Laredo Kid and Aero Star.

I do NOT trust the WWE 2K team to replicate Kyoki’s entrance jacket. It’ll break the entire game. They can barely handle Bianca’s braid after all these years, even more Kyoki’s Muppet jacket. This is Axiom’s third television match in the last week, advancing in the Dusty Cup with Frazier on NXT and competing in a four-way on Worlds Collide. Kyoki and Axiom trade running blows before Axiom armdrags Kyoki to the mat. A small “Axiom” chant breaks out as Axiom chops a willing Kyoki. Kyoki gives a few chops back and dropkicks Axiom down for a two count. Kyoki chops Axiom in the corner to the mat, picks him up and lights him up some more. Axiom dropkicks Kyoki and drops Kyoki to the mat before diving right out onto him on the outside.

Axiom tosses Kyoki in and dives over Kyoki before Kyoki boots him in the face. Axiom heads up top and nails a big Spanish Fly, only able to get a two count with it. Axiom sets up his Golden Ratio and Kyoki side steps it, snatching Axiom into a fireman’s carry and a Timebomb for the pin.

Kyoki pins Axiom. This was good. A little character display for Kyoki, the usual good stuff out of Axiom, and even a Spanish Fly on Main Event. Worth the six or so minutes it runs.

Axiom offers a handshake and Kyoki accepts.

Maxxine Dupri (with WWE World Tag Team Champion Austin Theory) vs Chantel Monroe

Maxxine is making her eighth Main Event appearance in 2026, coming into this one with a 3-4 record for the year. We last saw here here on August 27th when she pinned Wendy Choo. Chantel Monroe is making her Main Event debut and has only had six other matches in 2026, three of those on LFG. She signed with the company in 2024

Blake tells us he is nervous because you never know when Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed or Logan Paul are going to show up. I can confidently tell you that they are not showing up on this program. I really dig Chantel’s whole presentation. As far as I’m aware, she is not related to Blake but they would fit well together. Maxxine rolls Chantel up into a pin, Monroe rolls it through for her own two count. Monroe hits some nice armdrags on Maxxine as well as a big knee to the chin. Monroe hits Dupri with the corner ten punches before Theory hops on the apron to distract the ref and Maxxine shoves Chantel down.

Maxxine clotheslines Monroe and hooks a fisherman’s suplex before springing back to her feet. “Theory sucks” chants break out as Dupri takes Monroe to the mat with a chinlock. Chantel ducks Maxxine builds momentum with clotheslines and a superkick. Chantel hits a corner elbow Theory springs in again, Maxxine yanking Monroe down by her hair as the ref is distracted again. Maxxine nails Maxxed Out and gets the pin.

Maxxine Dupri pins Chantel Monroe. This was fine. Chantel is growing into her role and Maxxine is doing a good job leading against rookies on Main Event.

Otis (with Akira Tozawa) vs Naraku

This is not only the Main Evert debut but also the main roster debut for the former Evil. Big Otis is a Main Event veteran, making his ninth appearance on the show in 2026 and is on a five match winning streak on the show.

The fans are big into Otis as always, chanting his name as the match begins. He shoves Naraku to the mat, Naraku tries to suplex him and Otis grinds on him instead. Naraku begs off to trick Otis into the ropes where he knees him to the mat. Naraku tosses the big man into the steel steps and laughs into the camera before rolling in and back out to reset the count. He rolls Otis in and drops a senton onto him for a two count.

Naraku hits a boot, Otis wakes up and starts steamrolling through him before slamming him and playing to the crowd. Naraku dodges a charge into the corner and rolls out again, attacking Tozawa and shoving him into the ring post. Naraku heads to the top rope and nails Otis with a flying clothesline for a two count. Naraku runs into a slam by Otis who warms up for the Caterpillar and covers for a three. Big Otis has defeated Big Evil.

Otis pins Naraku. You can say “why is Naraku losing to Otis and his Caterpillar” yes, but it is Main Event and we’re the only people watching this and nothing matters on this show. This was a good test of Naraku against a popular member of the main roster and he looked good in it. This is worth watching just for the chance to say you’ve watched a Naraku vs Otis match.

A good episode this week. Quick and breezy half hour as always and nothing particularly bad. As always, you never know who you’re going to see on Main Event.
