TNA Impact Review – October 1, 2026
By Scott Herrin on 1 October 2026
Greetings, everyone and welcome to another review of Total Non-Stop Action. Once again, we are still Bounding for Glory as we are in the middle of the taping cycle in San Antonio. I know AMC started their Month of Horror Movie Marathons but fear not, we are in Texas and not Haddonfield, Illinois. There’s nothing to be frightened (unless the ticket sales rumors are to be believed for Bound For Glory.) Tom Hannifan and Matthew Rewholdt will narrate us through this tale of suspense and springboard cutters and McKenzie Mitchell has a cauldron full of information as she does ringside announcing. SO, sit back, relax, and put your worries about indestructible monsters aside. Is it the bogeyman? No, it’s Total Non-Stop Analysis. Shall we? We shall.
(Side note part one: As always, show some appreciation to the folks who provide reviews and information about this site. Tell a friend or two, or just comment. It means the world to see people engaged in what we do. We greatly appreciate it. And now….
Side note, Part Two: I know the death of Ben Slattery/Pac/Neville hit hard here and in the greater wrestling world. I was a fan of his work and loved his blending of high spots with grounded wrestling for a modern audience. I worried about the injuries and the elongated time periods away from the sport. However, much like Andy Williams, I have not read a single horrible thing about him and have seen glowing tributes from all. In this business, those people are at a premium. As a sci-fi reference, I think of a quote from Quark quoting a Rule of Acquisition “Good customers are as rare as latinum – treasure them.” Let’s take a moment and treasure those memories of him ..and now our feature presentation.)
Lo and behold, we get the Ben Slattery memorial image seen on WWE. Nice touch. We see the Hardys enter the arena with bat in hand as we briefly discuss the attack and reveal of Sam Shaw and Joseph Sawyer. From there, we go right to the ring for our first match
BDE (with Rich Swann in tow) vs. Mr. Elegance (with the Personal Concierge)
BDE and Swann are first as we highlights of the attack by the Righteous last week. We are immediately cut off by the PC. He asked for the people’s attention and talked about the Battle of the Alamo as hundreds of brave Texans fought vigorously against thousands of the Mexican army and…sad trombone…lost. All San Antonians are losers; so, he is going to introduce us to a winner..Mr. Elegance. Mr. E struts and dances his way to the ring and then poses inside the ring. Hannifin that BDE started in TNA a year ago on Bound For Glory and has not won.
As the opening bell rang, Rehwoldt does give a eulogy for Slattery. Hannifan said Slattery said throw your heart out in front of you and then run ahead and catch it. In the ring, BDE, took out Mr. Elegance and sent him to the floor with an armdrag and then dove between the ropes on him.
BDE sold last week’s injury but managed to get MR. E back into the ring. BDE hit the ropes with Mr. E’s help but a Clip Cutter was evaded and BDE crashed to the mat. Mr. E capitalized on it with a running knee strike and another pop-up punch to the back to the head. Mr. E slowed down BDE with a cravat hold. BDE fought his way out of it but MR. E avoided a corner charge by BDE. Mr. Elegance got behind BDE and hit a German Suplex. A diving clothesline got a two count.
Swann tried to get the crowd riled as Mr. Elegance continued to pour on the offense with two vertical suplexes. Mr. E took off one of his gloves and threw it at BDE. He taunted BDE but BEDE rallied with a slap and a rolling Code Breaker. However, a dive between the ropes ended with a punch from Mr. E, who followed with a leaping (over the ropes) Lung Blower. BDE attempted the Excusez-Moi (Swinging reverse STO into DDT) but BDE reversed it. He tried for a roll up abut hit the ropes for another Clip Cutter Attempt. However, Mr. Elegance reversed it and hoisted BDE on his shoulders. However, BDE climbed over Mr. Elegance and got a Sunset Flip for a win.
Post-Match: The crowd gave BDE a big pop as he celebrated with Swann on the floor. Mr. Elegance was apoplectic and had a tantrum on the turnbuckles. The Personal Concierge tried to calm him but Mr. E shoved him to the mat and glared at him as we head backstage.
When we get there, we see Jason Hotch taping up his wrists when John Skyler and Mila Moore enter the shot. Skyler said it was like old times but Hotch corrected him and said it was like old times but different (huh??) Ali openly disrespected him and his family and daughter – the same daughter that calls him “Uncle John.” When he asked Skyler to join him, he said he “needs this job.” But, as soon as Mila Moore came around and now Skyler has no problem leaving.
Skyler said yeah. But when they were all together, Hotch and Ali would take out their phones and share photos of family and loved ones, but Skyler had nothing to go home and Hotch knew that. Order Four wasn’t just a job but a family. Now, he found his person and pointed to Moore. He is happy now and Hotch should be happy for him as Skyler was happy for Hotch. He wanted to know he is going to the ring with Moore and wants to know if his brother will be there in the corner with him. With that, Moore and Skyler left the shot and Hotch contemplated what Skyler said
We get a rundown of the card including a grudge Knockouts Match..after the break.
We come back to the Home Town Man and the mascot for Dude Wipes. HTM is so happy he is here and has been amazing. The Dude Wipes ummm.dude gives him a new package of Dude Wipes and HTM is thankful. That is, until A J Francis and Expressions enter the shot. Expressions introduced the best big man in the business. Francis said the Dude Wipes dude said does he know why he is here? It’s because of Francis. The only reason he will be at ringside is him. With that, he shoved the mascot to the ground. HTM helped him up and asked if he is going to take that from him. Francis re-entered the shot and took the wipes from HTM, saying he doesn’t deserve them.
We get some funny banter from Hannifan and Rewholdt and then right to the next match:
Zoey Seranno vs. Indi Hartwell
The head of security is with Serrano. She tore up a pro-Hartwell sign from a fan and then accosted him until the head of security stepped in and diverted Serrano to the ring. Also, we are joined on commentary by Xia Brookside. Brookside is excited to be here..to see Hartwell have her head removed by Serrano.
Hartwell was out next and made to the ringside area before Serrano attacked. Two traded shots until Serrano landed a superkick. Hartwell countered by throwing Serrano’s jacket at her (???) but then tackled her and mauled her on the floor. The two continued to brawl on the floor until Serrano repeatedly ran Hartwell’s back into the apron and then threw her into he ring.
However, Hartwell landed a running clothesline as Serrano tried to enter the ring. Hartwell hit a big boot and a clothesline but Serrano countered with a superkick and a German Suplex. Serrano measured Hartwell and hit a running knee strike. Serrano mauled Hartwell with a series of forearm shots. Hartwell tried to rally but Serrano hit a vertical suplex. On commentary, Hannifin debated Rehwoldt and Brookside about the role Rae had in interfering with Hartwell’s affairs and brought in Santino Marella, too.
Serrano continued to maul Hartwell until Serrano hit the ropes for a spring board leap but Hartwell reversed it to a spinebuster. Hartwell clotheslined over the ropes and to the floor. Hartwell approached Brookside who stood up and threatened Hartwell. Hartwell started to beat on Serrano on the floor until Serrano threw Hartwell into the ringpost. Serrano continued to attack by throwing her into the ring steps.
Serrano looked around for a second and hit a running boot to one of the ringside crew men and took his chair. She threw the chair into the ring and ran it into the torso of Hartwell, drawing an instant disqualification.
Post-Match: a salvo of security ran to the ring to help Hartwell and send Serrano to the back with the Head of Security in tow. Meanwhile, Brookside climbed into the ring with her belt. She measured Hartwell and hit a running shot with the belt. Brookside stood over Hartwell with the belt held high and taunted the fans.
We get more highlights of what is to come as we will see if more cracks in Order Four are coming…after the break.
We come back to Bound For Glory hype and get an arial shot of the Tampa area and announcement of the Hardy Party there at the Hard Rock Café.
Order Four (Mustafa Ali and Agent Zero with Tasha Steelz in tow) vs. John Skyler and Jason Hotch (with Mila Moore in tow)
Order Four are our first as Steelz is still selling the injuries from the Triple Threat match between Ali vs. Hotch vs. Trey Miguel. Skyler and Moore are out first to their music. Hotch is next and the two say something to each other but hit the ring simultaneously.
Ali tried to get a shot before the bell with a running drop kick to Hotch but Hotch moved and Skyler felt the effects of it and went to the floor. Hotch opened up on Ali with a series of punches. Ali dodged a corner charge by Hotch and backflipped out of it and attempted a clothesline. Hotch blocked that and hit a spinning kick that sent Ali to the corner. Hotch hit a flying forearm into the corner and hit a dropkick to drop Zero from the apron to the floor.
Ali tried to rally but Hotch chopped his to regain the advantage. Hotch charged Ali but Ali backdropped Hotch to the corner. Hotch tried to kick Ali but Ali blocked and dropped Hotch with a chop. Ali followed it with a sliding dropkick to Skyler. Ali tried the same to Hotch but Hotch evaded it. He climbed to the top and hit a moonsault from the ringspost to the floor on Ali. He also superkicked Zero for good measure.
Hotch tried to leap again but Zero leapt to the apron and caught Hotch. He gorilla pressed Hotch and dropped him to the apron. Ali followed suit with a draping DDT to the floor. Ali celebrated but was met with a spear by Skyler on the floor. Zero grabbed Skyler and walked him to the apron but Skyler escaped Zero’s grasp and hit a spear on the apron.
Ali snuck from behind but Skyler threw him into the ring. Ali got the advantage by Hotch joined his partner and the two hit the Shatter Machine on Ali. Skyler sold an injury and Hotch tried to help. Meanwhile, Zero made his way into the ring and headbutted Hotch and then Skyler. As the former Great Hands laid on the ropes, Zero clotheslined them over the top to the floor. Zero hit the rope sand leapt over the ropes and dropped Skyler and Hotch.
Zero helped Ali to his feet and Ali celebrated on the floor. Zero threw Hotch into the ring and threw him into the corner. He responded with a reverse overhead suplex. He dropped Skyler from the apron and then tagged Ali. The two threw Hotch to the corner but Hotch fended off two charges and then climbed the ropes. However, Ali grabbed Hotch’s leg and yanked him to the mat with Hotch’s head hitting the turnbuckle. Zero hit a huge spinebuster and Ali tried a rollup for a two count.
Ali tried a German Suplex but Hotch backflipped out of it and cradled Ali for a two count. Ali responded with a running clothesline for a two count. Ali continued to beat on Hotch in the corner and tagged Zero. Hotch hit the ropes and tried a body press but Zero caught him and hit him with the East River Crossing into the End of Days (Sit out swinging side slam into a hanging pendulum flatliner.) A leaping leg drop got a two count. Zero continued to beat on Hotch and tagged Ali. Zero removed Skyler from the corner as Ali hit a sliding dropkick for a two count and hit the chinlock.
Hotch tried to rally but a forearm smash off the ropes ended that. A standing moonsault got a two count. Ali taunted Skyler and continued to beat on Hotch. Ali set up for a Powerbomb but the two hit a series of Powerbomb reversals until Hotch finally hit a sit out Powerbomb for a two count. Both men writhed on the mat but Hotch got the hope crawl and tagged Skyler as Zero tagged.
Skyler was a house of fire with a series of punches and chops. Zero threw Skyler into the corner but Skyler kicked a charging Zero. He also threw Ali into the turnbuckles for Ali’s face first sliding turnbuckle spot. Skyler hit a Tornado DDT off the ropes and climbed to the top. Zero met him there and grabbed his throat. Hotch joined his partner for a springboard move but Zero grabbed him by the throat. The Hands managed to jump to the mat but Zero held firm. However, The Hands escaped and hit a high-low with a clothesline/legsweep. The two picked Zero and put him on the top rope. The two climbed the turnbuckles and attempted a double superplex abut Zero fought out of it. Zero leapt over the Hands and grabbed both Hands for a double powerbomb on the hands for a two count.
Ali got to the apron and tried to kick Moore from the apron. Zero grabbed Skyler and put near the corner. Hotch got in the ring and hit a bodypress on Zero and the two went over the ropes. Meanwhile, Ail climbed to the top for the 450 Splash but Skyler moved to the apron. Ali rolled through it and charged but Skyler hit a slingshot spear for two-and-a-fraction.
Skyler grabbed Ali for a double underhook move but Ali escaped and sent Skyler throat first to the ropes. Ali grabbed Skyler and put him into the Sharpshooter and got the submission.
Post Match: Ali didn’t let go of the sharpshooter until Hotch saved his partner. Zero joined Ali in the ring and Ali ordered him to attack. Steelz looked perplexed as Hotch and Moore tried to help Skyler. Zero dropped Hotch with a punch. Ali seemed a bit miffed at Zero and wanted Zero to attack Skyler. However, Steelz gave the order and Zero dropped Skyler with a running big boot. Now, Ali was genuinely miffed and yelled at Zero and then Steelz.
Ali admonished Zero again and Steelz pointed at Ali. Ali turned around and realized what was happening. However, it was too late and Zero clotheslined Ali (with the 360 degree sell job.) Steelz held the International Title over Ali’s head whilst Moore tried to help Skyler. However, Steelz gave the order Zero went after Moore. Zero grabbed Moore and hit the Chokebomb on her. Steelz and Zero stood over everyone as the crowd chanted “TNA.”
This seems like a good a time as any to pivot to the TNA Injury Report brought to you by I Heart Radio. Hartwell is in evaluation after the Serrano attack earlier. She is questionable for her match at Bound for Glory. The Hardys are banged up after their attack from Swayer and Shaw but are angrier than injured – and they are both cleared for action.
We get the second half of the card and a pair of former National Football League players square off in a heated battle…after the break.
We come back to an ad and tribute to Rebel and to donate at IAMALS.com. We go backstage to see Zero and Steelz backstage only to stop and look at Skyler trying to help Moore. Skyler asked for some help and then saw Zero and Steelz. He started to threaten Zero but Ali staggered into the shot and was yelling at Ali. He stopped and turned as Hotch staggered his way into the shot. All four had a standoff until all four started to brawl with each other until the salvo of security tried to save the day. Marella made his presence felt and got some semblance of calm. He called for a four-way match at Bound For Glory for Ali’s International Title. He wanted seucirty to clear them out of the backstage area.
We head back to the ring to hear Expressions on the rampway. After Francis defeats Moose, Francis and he are going to celebrate like the New York Knicks (cheap heat landed.) Expressions wanted the crowd on its feet for the best big man in the business “TN” A J Francis.
A J Francis (with Expressions) vs. Moose
Francis came to the ring with a significant round of boos. Hannifan and Rehwoldt made mention of the Dude Wipes Mascot at ringside. The lights go out and Moose made his appearance as the crowd loudly chanted along with his theme. Moose got in the ring and the crowd continued to chant. Even the Dude Wipes mascot got into the act – he sure is getting a lot of face time.
As the bell rang, Moose tried to take a shot at Expressions but missed. Francis attacked Moose and beat him along the ropes. Francis threw Moose into the corner and hi a running splash in the corner. However, a second try did not produce results as Francis crashed into the corner and Moose hit a shoulderblock to the abdomen. However, a second shoulder block attempt also didn’t produce results and Moose crashed into the corner. Francis hit the Tennessee Whiskey running knee strike.
Francis tried to charge but Moose threw him to the floor. Moose leapt over the ropes to the floor but Francis evaded him and pushed Moose to the ring steps. Francis threw Moose into the ring and went for a Down Payment (chokeslam) but Moose escaped and headbutted Francis. Moose clotheslined Francis twice but didn’t drop him. A suplex attempt was thwarted as Moose sold a back injury. Francis responded with a big boot to drop Moose. But, Francis missed a senton as Moose…ummm..Moose’d up.
Moose tried for another suplex but couldn’t get Francis. He hit a running boot and tried a third time but Francis reversed it into a vertical suplex of his own for a two count. Francis grabbed the chinlock as Moose tried to rally. Moose did escape and ran up the turnbuckles but Francis caught him and struck him. Francis climbed to the top rope and attempted a superplex. Moose blocked and threw Francis to the mat. Mosoe perched and hit a flying cross bodyblock of his own.
Moose charged and sold a big boot by Francis. Francis hit a dropkick and then climbed to the top to suplex him. Francis headbutted him down but Moose kipped up and ran to the top rope and fought Francis. NOW, we get the superplex from Moose for a two count. Moose got ready for a spear attempt until Expressions climbed onto the apron to accost Moose. Moose grabbed him and evaded a Francis charge as Francis knocked Expressions to the floor. Moose hit the ropes but Francis dropped him with a clothesline (with a 360 degree sell.)
Francis hit Moose with the TFL (Spear) for a two count. He asked Expressions to get a table and the two grabbed a table under the ring and set it up on the floor. He grabbed the feared black bag full of…..dude wipes? Okay, sure. Rehwoldt made a joke that after Moose would soil himself and being slammed into the table, he could use them. Sure.
Francis grabbed Moose and put him on his shoulders. Meanwhile, the Dude Wipes mascot climbed into the ring and grabbed Moose. Expressions climbed onto the apron to protest but Moose hit a big boot and Expressions crashed into the table. Moose consulted with the mascot and put something on the floor. Francis charged but Moose got out of the way. Moose stopped just short of hitting the mascot. Moose grabbed what was on the floor – a toilet lid. He slammed it over Francis and then Moose Hit the Stick (Spear) for the win with the lid still over Francis.
Post Match: Moose and the mascot celebrated in the win as we got the final moments of the match.
We still have Syx to address the crowd and Cedric Alexander and Ricky Sosa are still to battle and we have an X-Division match..after the break.
When we comeback, we get a huge amount of dubstep as Allie and Keira Hogan walk one side of the hallway as Rosemary (in her Holly Letkeman persona) walked the other way. They briefly glance at each other but keep walking. We get outside to a fence and Allie sees Rosemary (as Rosemary) on the other side of the fence. Allie called for her but Rosemary was still in a strait jacket from last week. Rosemary laughed maniacally laughed and banged her head on the back of the fence. Rosemary said she can’t go back or stay here as Hogan looked worried. Allie said she couldn’t understand but does hear her. Rosemary started to scream to beware of snakes in the grass. Hmmmm…..
Leon Slater vs. Joe Alonzo
Slater is out first and the crowd chants along with his theme. Hannifin and Rehwoldt talked about the match with Nic Nemeth at Bound for Glory and sure enough, here is Nemeth as guest commentator. Hannifin warned him about the no contact rule from Marella last week. Nemeth said we would get Grand Theft Auto Seven before we get Slater as champion. Alonzo is next and posed for the crowd. He has a mic, let’s hear what he has to say after his music is cut. He welcomes us to Total Nonstop Alonzo, starring him. Unlike San Antonio, he does not embrace his losses. Although he lost two weeks ago K C Navarro, the person to blame wasn’t him, it was Slater (with mock British accent.) The people are tired of hearing him talking about him being the youngest champion at Bound For Glory.
However, Slater came out and was a cheerleader for Navarro in his match versus Alonzo. In fact, Slater sounds like Nemeth from 2006 (that was a good one, points for that.) He apologized for the comment and said he always looked up to Nemeth and fancies himself as a bit of a show off. Nemeth smiled on that one. He said he is going to make up to Nemeth by giving him the night off. The crowd started to chant “boring” but Alonzo said the is a timed segment and he will stand out here as long as he wants and cost AMC thousands of dollars. He could do this all night.
Slater should not be in the title match but he is a one-trick pony and in one year people will hate him. Isn’t that what the fans do? People love up-and-coming stars now but in a year they will go on twitter and say they are overrated. Hannifin wanted the match to start.
He climbed on the apron and said if Slater wanted to take away shots for people like Alonzo, he will reciprocate and make sure he doesn’t make it to Bound For Glory. He mocked Slater’s catch phrase in a mock British accent and asked for the bell. He put the mic down and the bell rang and Slater met him with a superkick. Slater climbed to the top rope and hit the Swanton 450 for the win.
Post-Match: Slater started to jaw with Nemeth. Nemeth got out of his seat and hit the apron and jumped back. He grabbed Slater’s jacket, put it on and strutted around the floor. Nemeth ran up the rampway to the back. So, in response, Slater grabbed the TNA World and one-half of the Tag Team title and taunted Nemeth.
We immediately go to a vignette with Avery Styles and Frankie Kazarian who are training for the Call Your Shot Gauntlet match at Bound For Glory. The two go through a series of moves until Kazarian called time out because of a phone call. Styles turned his back and Kazarian clotheslined him out of the ring. The lesson being don’t turn your back on anyone in the match, especially him.
The Main Event is on the horizon but we have one more match to go…after the break.
We come back from the break to the By Elegance Brand at a loading door and the Personal Concierge said everything is going great. M by Elegance has a title and we are getting Mr. Elegance a title shot. However, Elayna Black entered the shot and asked is she is interrupting anything. The PC said yes and tried to get her to leave. Black just wanted to show M what the new Knockouts TV Champion will look like. M congratulated Black on her title shot but now has to face her. Black said she can’t wait to kick her butt for the title. M said that would never happen. Black asked if the rest of the Brand goons will be there.
M said this is a Brand and what successful people have – at the center of it is her. Black asked Heather how she felt about that but the Concierge tried again to get her to leave. The PC said Black is scared of M. Black said they should be scared when she takes the title and maybe Heather can finally start carrying the brand. M said next week will be the most embarrassing moment of her life, even more than losing to Brookside in front of her family and friends. Black said if she is so sure, why doesn’t she defend the title without the Brand at ringside. M agreed to the stipulation. Black was happy and left the shot. The Personal Concierge asked M what she was doing and said she was challenged and could do it. They walk off the shot. We head straight to ringside for the next match.
Cedric Alexander vs. Ricky Sosa
We get the warning buzzer and Alisha Edwards telling us that you can’t beat the System. Alexander is out first without any of the other System components in tow. Sosa is next and the crowd loudly chants the chorus of his theme. The crowd continued the chant long after the theme ended.
The two fought for position with Sosa backing Alexander into the ropes. Alexander did a leg takedown on Sosa and then shoved Sosa when Sosa bucked Alexander off him when he ran him into the ropes. Sosa returned the leg takedown and followed with a foot stomp to the chest and then lifted Alexander into an overhead bridge suplex for a two count. Sosa sent Alexander to the floor with a dropkick and then leapt over the ropes onto Alexander on the floor. Sosa continued the attack by running Alexander to the apron and chopping him onto the barricade. Sosa hit a belly to back suplex on the apron. Sosa pushed Alexande into the ring and hit a kick on the apron.
Alexander got the advantage by snapping Sosa’s neck on the ropes. Alexander leapt over the turnbuckles and got on the apron to spear Sosa. On the floor, Alexander hit a release vertical suplex on the apron. Alexander got into the ring and taunted the crowd. In the ring, Alexander continued his attack with a series of kicks and chops in the corner. He choked Sosa in the corner with his boot and continued to taunt the fans.
Sosa tried to rally but was met with a forearm off the ropes for a two count. Alexander grabbed a chinlock and cinched it, thwarting Sosa’s attempts to escape. Eventually, Sosa did escape and the two tadedfor3earms in the “boo/yeah” spot until Alexander hit a snap German Suplex. He followed it with a snapmare and a seated dropkick. Alexander threw Sosa to the floor and continued his offense. The two started to trade shots on the barricade until Sosa was thrown into the ringsteps.
Alexander threw Sosa into the ring into a series of two counts and hit a facelock. Sosa tried to rally but Alexander yanked him to the mat. That started the rally as Sosa no sold it and started to land a series of punches to Alexander and hit a vertical suplex. Sosa reversed a clothesline into a spinning kick. Sosa hit a series of flying forearms into the corner. Alexander tried to charge Sosa but was met with a back elbow as Sosa climbed to the top turnbuckle. He leapt over Alexander and charged Alexander but Alexander was ready with a kick. However, a second turnbuckle spear attempt was countered into a neckbreaker for a two count.
Sosa got behind Alexander but a suplex attempt was blocked. Alexander tried but Sosa blocked his attempt. However, Sosa hit the ropes and Alexander speared him. A vertical suplex got a two count Alexander taunted Sosa and asked him the wanted a fight. He attempted the Lumbar Check but Sosa blocked it with a series of punches. He did a headlock takeover to escape the hold but was met with a punch from Alexander. Alexander hit the ropes for a springboard leap but Sosa was ready and countered with a Blue Thunder Bang (Blue Thunder Bomb variation.)
Sosa got the crowd riled as was getting ready to hit his finisher – the Headshot (running uppercut.) However, Bear Bronson and Brian Myers hit the ring but Sosa booted them from the apron to the floor. Sosa backdropped Alexander to the floor. Alexander climbed on the apron and Sosa got a hurincanrana over the ropes and sent Alexander to the floor. Sosa threw Alexander into the ring but now Alisha Edwards got on the apron to distract Sosa and the referee. As the distraction took place, Eddie Edwards hit the ring and kicked Sosa in the groin. Sosa writhed in pain as Eddie left the ring. Alexander took advantage and hit the Lumbar Check for the win.
Post-Match: The System hit the ring and taunted Sosa as we got the highlights of the last moments of the win. The System pose in the ring but we go immediately to…
An undesignated area as we get closeups of the Sawyer and Shaw who get up and head to ringside for our main event interview..after the break.
We get some promos for the first event after Bound for Glory in Dothan, Alabama as the Hardys celebrate 35 years in pro wrestling as they are honorary matchmakers and will determine the matches.
We go back to ringside to hear the sounds of electric humming and cackling. We get the strobe light effects as Sawyer and Shaw are in the ring. They actually get a huge pop. Sawyer got the mic and started with “we’re here” which popped the crowd. Shaw got the mic and said for the past month people have been asking the same question – Who is doing this? Who is taking everyone out? (That’s actually two but, anyway…) The crowd got a “what” chant as Shaw said they are asking the wrong question. The real question is why (The crowd started to chant why? Which, I guess, makes sense..) Shaw said they have been watching TNA for weeks. People walk through the doors smiling, shake hands and hugging. Truth be told, it’s a rotten place, it truly is. Sometimes, a place becomes so rotten it has to be cut apart.
Sawyer said they are the ones who did the cutting – it didn’t matter who and where. They are here and no one is safe. No help is coming. If you’re standing around wearing a “TNA” shirt or in the back or walk through the doors – you are on the chopping block. Shaw continued that the names on top of the chopping block are the GOATS – The Hardys. Shaw said the Hardys made their reputation surviving things that normal men couldn’t survive; they did it all. They spent their lives surviving things and proving they can’t be killed. They tried but they survived. That’s great, because the Syx get to try it again.
Sawyer said he wanted the Hardys to listen. Last week, the Hardys said they wanted them and they got them. They are in the heads of the Hardys and on their minds. They are peaking in shadows and glancing over shoulders. The Hardys spent their lives being extreme but now let’s see how hard it is to kill you. If Syk is what they are, Syk is what they will be.
That brought out the Hardys theme as the Hardys made their way to the ramp to thunderous applause. For over a month, they attacked from behind and hid in the shadows, said Matt Hardy. The crowd started to chant “delete.” Jeff Hardy said they tried to take them down and take them out but they are still standing. Matt said last week they gave Syk what they wanted – an invitation to the ring to take them out. They tried but they failed. They talk about all the things they survived. The reason why the Hardys survived is because they are unkillable and they will not die.
If Syk wants to learn how hard it is to kill the Hardys, at Bound For Glory, Syx vs. The Hardys in a no-disqualification, anything goes and falls count anywhere match. Jeff loved that idea but they don’t have to wait for BFG, they can do it tonight in San Antonio. They hit the ring but the lights go out and Syx has disappeared. The crowd chanted for the Hardys as we go off the air.
Impactful Discourse:
One: The main event interview was paint by numbers but delivered solidly. However, we have heard all this numerous times, even as early as this spring with the Righteous. At this point, I don’t see how this will be different. It’s a recycled trope at this point and it gives the Hardys another chance to feed the ego. As much as I am hot and cold on Syx, if they win, I would actually root for that as we need something new – anything new – for variety sake.
Two: One odd thing, that’s three times I heard the catch phrase “nobody is safe” from a team or faction. Variety would be greatly welcomed.
Three: This was a week we saw one faction implode and one start to pick up the pace on their way to ruin. Steelz swerve was a bit Russo-rific but it does give Zero someone who can talk with some skill. Ali is Ali – that’s a given. Hotch did okay but I did come across with a new respect for Skyler’s mic skills. His defense of his actions was well done and had a sense of believability and realism to it.
Four: As a side note, they should give Zero’s East River Crossing into an End of Days a name. Better yet, make it his finisher.
Five: (Sigh) here we go again with the intergender violence. Even though it was the heel thing to do; given the news of the day, was it worth it?
Six: I am curious about the (presumably) break up of the By Elegance Brand. I think M should be the one that goes face and not Heather. Mr. Elegance shoving the Personal Concierge after his match (more on that later,) and everyone reacting as they did during the segment with Black was telling. I don’t know how you can craft Heather into a face. What is the ceiling for her if she turns.
Seven: One quick note about Sawyer, I got worried when he had the leg injury at GCW. I am glad all is well and looked worse than it was.
Eight: The DQ finish was a good means to protect Serrano. The whole security detail is silly, where was the head of security when she superkicked the crew? Aside from that, I really liked the presentation of Serrano. Brookside is starting to plateau as she is falling into the same style of everything. Serrano, superfluous security aside, looked solid in the ring and could really be a good focus if we can get a face to win a title on the Knockouts side of things.
Nine: Can we just outlaw black bags from wrestling? Thumbtacks were one thing and bad enough, now we get silly things like the black bag full of dude wipes? It is truly dumb.
10: I am not a fan of spooky vignettes in the least bit but I did find something positive about this one. Look at Hogan’s face and then listen to Rosemary talk about snakes in the grass. Could this be a portent for a heel turn?
11: I know the finish had to be what it was but I really appreciate how fluid and better Sosa gets every time he wrestles He really has a great balance of the high spots and ground work/brawling. I was really impressed with the way he worked with Alexander. Alexander is a good wrestler (screaming promos notwithstanding) and made Sosa look really comfortable. In case anyone leaves, we got a potential number one face down the road in Sosa.
12: Is it me or is Alonzo starting to fill the role as “loud mouth doofus loser” as well as Nemeth. I find Alonso’s mic work really good and has nice burns. Alonzo is definitely someone to keep around for the future.
- I liked the training montage with Kazarian and Styles. It felt very real and believable.
14. I saw the news regarding Gia Miller. Hopefully, she has a speedy recovery from whatever ailment kept her off Impact in the last two weeks.
Lastly: Congratulations to BDE on your win tonight. You now have more wins than the Astros post season this year.
Keep Fighting the Good Fight
