WWE Signs Legends Deal With Wrestler Who Never Worked There
Necro Butcher, real name Dylan Keith Summers, has announced that he has signed a basic WWE Legends deal despite never wrestling for the company. Summers revealed on Facebook that the offer arrived the day after he left his job and said several potential projects have already been discussed, although he intends to take things slowly. The 28-year veteran expressed hope that the deal could create opportunities for other wrestlers who never received a WWE opportunity. Necro Butcher built his reputation on the independent and deathmatch scenes, including runs with IWA Mid-South, CZW, ROH and PWG. He retired in 2016 before returning for a final match in 2020 and announced in 2021 that he was cancer-free following a Hodgkin lymphoma diagnosis.
Sheamus Has AEW Veterans Pushing for His Signing
Several AEW veterans are reportedly pushing the company to sign Sheamus after his departure from WWE. According to Fightful Select, prominent figures within AEW have advocated for the Irish star to join the promotion, although he remains unsigned and no substantial contract discussions have occurred between the two sides. Sheamus, real name Stephen Farrelly, became a free agent on October 1 after nearly 20 years with WWE and reportedly rejected a restructured contract that included a significant pay cut. Claudio Castagnoli has previously expressed interest in seeing his former tag team partner join AEW, where fellow former WWE stars Kofi Kingston and Austin Creed have also landed.
El Hijo Del Vikingo To Undergo Another Knee Surgery
El Hijo del Vikingo is set to undergo another knee surgery, three months after his first operation on the left knee injury that has kept him sidelined since June. Vikingo announced the procedure on Instagram but did not reveal which knee requires surgery, why another operation is necessary, or whether it will affect his recovery timetable. Dave Meltzer previously reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Vikingo was expected to miss approximately nine months following his first surgery. That original timeframe would have placed his potential return to the ring around April 2027, although it is currently unclear whether the latest procedure will delay that target.
