ESPN Unlimited Price Increase Set For WWE PLE’s
ESPN Unlimited is set to increase its subscription prices from September 17, affecting WWE fans who use the service to watch premium live events. The monthly price will rise from $29.99 to $31.99, while the annual subscription will increase from $299.99 to $319.99. It is the first price increase since ESPN Unlimited launched just over a year ago. The cheaper ESPN Select tier will also increase to $13.99 per month, but does not include WWE PLEs, meaning fans must subscribe to Unlimited to watch the events legally through ESPN. For monthly Unlimited subscribers, the increase amounts to an additional $24 per year.
Avery Styles officially signs with TNA
Avery Styles, the son of TNA legend AJ Styles, has officially signed with TNA Wrestling. Styles made his debut at TNA Lockdown in Chicago on Sunday, where he was introduced as the “Phenomenal Son” and announced that he had signed with the promotion. Frankie Kazarian interrupted the segment and spoke about the wrestlers who helped build TNA, including himself, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe and Christopher Daniels. Kazarian then warned Avery that there were plenty of people in the TNA locker room he could not trust, while telling him that he could always rely on Kazarian.
Solar II Passes Away At Age 66
Mexican wrestling veteran Solar II, real name Pedro Buenrostro Gomez, has died at the age of 66 following recent health problems. His death was confirmed by his brother, Solar I, who issued a statement on behalf of the family expressing their grief and remembering the impact Solar II had on those who knew him. Solar II made his professional wrestling debut in 1975 and spent the majority of his career with CMLL. He captured the NWA World Welterweight Championship in 1988 before losing his mask and hair in 2002, the same year he retired from professional wrestling.
