Vic Joseph and Blake Howard welcome us to another edition of Thursday’s thirty minutes of straight action. This week, we’re coming to you from the Scope in Norfolk, Virginia, as well as the XFinity Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Alicia Taylor and Mark Nash are handling the ring announcing.

Here, I wanted to give you a run down of every wrestler in the Main Event intro video just for science: Rhodes, Gunther, Morgan, Jey, Bayley, Rollins, Lynch, MyIntyre, Jimmy, Orton, Punk, Cargill, Penta, Perez, Valykria, Owens, Breakker, Rusev, Balor, Zayn, American Made, Femi, Ripley, Bliss, Priest, Stratton, Knight, Asuka, Sikoa, Flair, Paul, Reigns. Now if you’re tuning in based on the people advertised in the intro, I am afraid you’re going to be very disappointed on a weekly basis unless you’re big into American Made and Lyra Valkyria. Most of those faces haven’t been on this show in years, many of them ever.

The MFTS (Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga with Haku) vs Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer and Axiom)

Hold the phone, we have HAKU ON MAIN EVENT! He hasn’t been on Main Event before, but his last WWE B-show appearance was in July 2001 when he lost in under three minutes to Shawn Stasiak of all people on Jakked. Haku’s fellow WCW tough guy Jerry Flynn main evented that episode, taking a loss to Mark Jindrak. Great, now I want to review Jakked but it would have two comments compared to the six that Main Event gets.

Oh, the people competing in this match. Fraxiom have both been around Main Event this year, with Axiom last losing to Ricky Saints on August 6th and Frazer going down to Matt Cardona on the May 21st episode. Talla Tonga was on Main Event back on January 8th, defeating the since-released Apollo Crews. This is Tama’s first time appearing on Thursday’s big show.

I have mostly avoided the MFTs with them being on SmackDown. Joseph is talking about Haku being in the Dungeon of Doom, a topic I never thought I’d hear on Main Event. Fraxiom both try to go for Talla and he clotheslines the hell out of Axiom and then tosses Nathan across the ring. The MFTs continue to work over Axiom, Talla chopping Axiom to the ground for a two count. Tama continues the dominance as Vic notes Fraxiom haven’t been able to get out of the gates.

Axiom is able to dropkick and tag in Nathan who tries to take Talla down with kicks. It doesn’t work as Talla catches him with an attempt at a chokeslam, though Nathan flips out. Fraxiom try to double team Talla again and he chops his way out again. Tama evens the odds and Fraxiom fight him off. Both members of Fraxiom leap off the top rope with a double missile dropkick but can’t keep big Talla down. Axiom climbs the ropes, Talla launches Nathan right into him and tags in Tama. Tama throws Frazier into Talla who SLAMS him down for the easy pin.

Tama Tonga pins Nathan Frazer, The MFTS defeat Axiom. Wait, do I love the MFTs? I loved this. I think Talla Tonga is my favorite wrestler now. Maybe not, but I enjoyed seeing him throw people around. Also, more Haku please.

American Made (Brutus & Julius Creed) vs BirthRight (Stacks and Uriah Connors)

The Creeds spend a lot of time on this fine show, with six prior matches this year. We saw them just last week when they put down Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno. The boys from BirthRight are just part of the five-person stable that have been terrorizing NXT. Stacks is making his Main Event debut while Uriah was here back in May, teaming with their BirthRight partner Charlie Dempsey in a loss to Alpha Academy.

Vic discusses the rough week BirthRight have had on NXT. Stacks and Julius start off with some grappling, Brutus throws both men around before tossing Uriah into the arms of Julius. Brutus heads up for the cannon ball but Stacks throws Julius into him. Connors and Stacks double team big Brutus in the corner to a very quiet crowd. Vic references BirthRight not wanting to move chairs as Julius tags in and dumps both men over his head at the same time. Julius pulls the straps down and moonsaults onto Stacks, Uriah breaking the pin. Brutus suplexes Uriah out of the ring and Julius scoops up Stacks with a power bomb. Brutus tags in and the Creeds drop Stacks with a tandem drop to get the pin and make it five in a row on Main Event.

The Creeds defeat BirthRight. The crowd didn’t care until the end, but this was a decent tag match.

Lyra Valkyria vs Jaida Parker

Remember when Lyra stomped down Bayley at Saturday Night’s Main Event almost a month ago? Well, she’s only briefly been seen on Raw since, but this is her second Main Event match following that, having defeated Wren Sinclair a few weeks back. Ms. Parker is visiting from NXT, a place she’s been since 2022 (October 2023 as far as on television). Somehow, she’s yet to win a title or get brought up to the main roster, but she did compete in the 2025 Royal Rumble as well as the battle royal at 2025’s Evolution. Surprisingly, this is her first Main Event appearance despite the many NXT crossovers. These two have a singles match in their history back at a 2024 NXT house show but this is their first televised singles match.

The crowd does pop for Ms. Parker’s entrance, chanting her name as she struts down the aisle. The fans find a way to “woo” to Lyra’s updated theme. A sign in the crowd asks “Where’s Bayley?” Jaida powers over Lyra and steps over her, dancing and mocking the “woo.” Jaida suplexes Lyra as the fans chant “Jaida Parker” to the usual cadence of “this is awesome.” Jaida slides outside and chops Lyra, yelling at her to not play with her before Lyra shoves Jaida into the apron. Back in, Lyra unloads on Parker as Howard and Joseph tell us about Lyra’s former partner Tatum Paxley making her debut on SmackDown.

Jaida rallies with elbows and backdrops and hits a big clothesline to take Lyra to the mat. Parker lands a gourd buster and drops Lyra with a Blockbuster. Lyra rolls out, Jaida tries to slide into her and Lyra catches her and drops her neck-first onto her knee and to the outside mat. Sliding her back in, Lyra hooks the Captain’s Hook submission and Ms. Parker taps.

Lyra Valkyria defeats Jaida Parker by submission. Hey, this was really good. These two were basically presented as equals more than “WWE vs a NXT upstart” and really it is time to call Ms. Parker on up, she’s beyond ready. Granted, they already can’t figure out what to do with Blake Monroe and Lyra is stuck on Main Event. A good match.

A good episode overall this week, I’d recommend taking your little thirty minutes to watch it. The opening tag and the closing women’s match were both particularly enjoyable.
