Evening Daily News Update – August 8, 2026

Happy Saturday night to you all! It’s another Saturday full of wrestling so let’s take a look at what is on the slate.

AEW presents Collision at 8 p.m. ET on TNT and HBO Max. The Continental Challenge Cup begins with three first-round matches including Orange Cassidy vs Matt Sydal, Jake Doyle vs Eddie Kingston and Claudio Castagnoli vs Ace Austin. We have the women in tag team action as well as Maya World teams with Hyan to battle Persephone and Hikaru Shida.

WWE presents AAA Verano de Escandalo Night Three at 10 p.m. ET on YouTube. There’s a triple threat match for the AAA Reina de Reinas Title with Flammer vs La Catalina vs Lady Shani. We have a triple threat match with a spot in the Latin American Title match as well as Psycho Clown, El Fiscal and Cruz Del Toro fight for the opportunity.

Niz has taken a look at last night’s eventful SmackDown including the main roster call-up of Tatum Paxley and the saga of the Undisputed Championship continuing. We had a lot going on yesterday as well with new editions of What The World Was Watching, Mike Reviews Tapes Considered to Be Stinkers, The NXT 2.0 Rewind, and reviews of Main Event and TNA Impact.
