AAA Review – 06.27.26

By Niz on 28 June 2026

No matter what you think of the quality, the sheer volume of WWE content at this point has to be impressive. Raw | NXT | Evolve | Main Event | Impact | Smackdown | Night of Champions

AAA comes to Youtube from Foro GNP Seguro in Merida, Mexico. The American announcing team for tonight’s show are Corey Graves, John Bradshaw Layfield, and AAA GM Rey Mysterio. Jesus Zuniga is your ring announcer. There are two big matches this evening, so let’s watch some lucha!

Then, Now, Forever….TOGETHER

Here’s a look at the debut of Los Perros Del Mal at the end of last week‘s show, followed by their subsequent attack on El Grande Americano. God forgives, Los Perros do not.

Here’s Psycho Clown entering prior to his confrontation with Pagano. Galeno del Mal arrives ahead of his clash with Mecha Wolf. Here’s NXT Women’s Champion Lola Vice enjoying a stroll while Las Toxicas enter with La Hiedra in the lead prior to her meeting with Vice later.

Here’s a look at the ongoing saga of Los Psycho Circus. The ethos for the Clowns was always on being stronger together than apart, but it didn’t stop them from falling to pieces as The War Raiders claimed the tag titles from Pagano and Psycho at Noche de los Grandes. Pagano walked away from Psycho and the Raiders continued the assault as Pagano watched from the aisle.

Psycho Clown is in the ring and says he’s tired of coming to the shows every week while faking and pretending that things are okay. Psycho says he’s lost his brothers and his tag title, and while all that was happening, he almost lost his life thanks to the beating from Erik and Ivar. The only person that Psycho trusted turned his back on him and today, it all ends. Psycho calls out all the Clowns and here are Murder Clown, Panic Clown, and Dave the Clown out to join Psycho mid-ring. Psycho asks his brothers to identify the coward who attacked them. Panic does not know who attacked him, Dave is also in the dark, and Murder also has no idea who it was. Psycho wants Pagano to come out now so they can figure this out, but Pagano does not make an appearance. Psycho decides that since Pagano has not made an entrance, they will go find him. Psycho promises to come for Pagano and they find his dressing room trashed and Pagano bleeding from the mouth and unconscious. Psycho asks Pagano to forgive him for accusing him and Psycho then sees “Psycho, you are next” written in blood on the dressing room mirror.

This Clown saga has been going on for awhile now, so let’s hope we get some resolution here at some point.

The Copa Bardahl will be returning at Triplemania. Highlights are shown of last year’s contest that was won by Omos who tossed La Parka to win the Cup.

Mecha Wolf vs Galeno Del Mal

Galeno pushes Mecha away at the outset but Mech fires up with some rights. Galeno cuts that off and tosses Mecha to a corner for some clubbering. Galeno misses a charge and eats some chops, but Galeno leapfrogs Mecha and blasts him with a right. Galeno gets dumped to the floor and he catches Mecha’s tope attempt with a giant right forearm. Galeno misses a charge as Omos and Dorian Roldan appear at the top of the ramp. (Omos and Galeno had a big confrontation on last week’s show that ended with Galeno getting blasted in the head with the top of the ring steps by Omos.) Mecha rolls back through for a tope suicida and then blasts Galeno with a shotgun dropkick when Galeno crawls back in. Mecha chops away but eats a few rights from Galeno in response. Galeno eats a back elbow on a charge and then runs into a Mecha high boot. Mecha snaps off a dropkick and then blasts Galeno in the spine with a running knee. Mecha covers and gets two.

Galeno blasts Mecha with a couple rights but turns into a Mecha superkick. Galeno shakes that off and trucks Mecha down before walloping him with a senton. Galeno hits a rolling powerbomb and gets two. Galeno pulls Mecha up onto the apron where he connects with an enziguri. Mecha flies in with a springboard tornado DDT and drops the knee pad. Galeno mashes Mecha with a lariat and stares down Omos before hitting a huge cannonball on a helpless Mecha. Galeno drops the straps and hits the Galeno Special on Mecha which ends things after a three count.

Mecha is a good “opponent” for these types of matches where a guy needs to get some work in, look good, beat up a name opponent, and move on with his or her storyline. Galeno didn’t break much of a sweat here but this worked in terms of what the overall goal here was. No major complaints with this one. 3*

Winner – Galeno Del Mal (Galeno Special)

Post-match sees Galeno invite Omos down for some fun, but Roldan holds Omos off and Galeno just barks and barks at the giant from the ring.

Highlights are shown of Los Garza winning the AAA tag titles at last year’s Verano de Escandalo defeating Rey Fenix and Octagon. Verano de Escandalo is the next big signature card for AAA.

Here’s AAA GM Rey Mysterio chatting with the press about Los Perros Del Mal, and he was surprised to see them show up but won’t comment until he has more information on their intentions. Mysterio’s promised former WWE champion will be showing up on next week’s show. Mysterio also announces that El Hijo del Vikingo will be defending the Latin American Championship in NXT at some point.

NXT Women’s Championship: Lola Vice (C) vs La Hiedra

Hiedra is out alone and Jesus Zuniga does in-ring intros prior to the bell. Hiedra attacks prior to the bell with a Michinoku Driver and rolls up Vice for two. Hiedra and Vice start slapping each other and Vice goes to ground and pound. They roll to the floor and Heidra runs Vice into the announce table. Hiedra send Vice into the ring steps and then misses a charge. They go back in and Vice fires off some kicks and fists before chopping away. Vice kicks Hiedra but Hiedra sneaks around and grabs a roll up for two. Vice drops Hiedra with a kick and then starts firing knees at Hiedra’s chest. Vice runs right into a spinebuster as Hiedra covers and gets two. Hiedra bullies Vice around and drives a knee into the side of her head. Vice fires a back elbow but Hiedra sets Vice up in a corner and blasts her with right hands and a dropkick that gets two.

Hiedra leans on Vice over the second rope and then waffles her with a shotgun dropkick that gets two. Hiedra slaps on a submission and Vice breaks out with some clubbering rights. They mash each other with lariats and simultaneous swinging hair-pulls. Vice snaps off some martial arts kicks and then waffles Hiedra with a belly-to-back suplex. Hiedra goes to the floor and Vice nails her with a seated senton. Vice hits her low kicks and then lines Hiedra up for the Hip Attack. Vice eats some rights and a sit-out stunner that gets two. Vice slaps away and blasts Hiedra with a knee. Hiedra blasts Vice with a wheelbarrow driver that gets two.

Hiedra slips into a Vice roll up that gets two, and then Vice nails Hiedra with a backfist that sends her to the floor. As the referee checks on Hiedra, AAA Women’s World Champion Flammer and Lady Maravilla hit the scene to interfere. Flammer further distracts the ref as Maravilla works Vice over on the floor. Maravilla rolls Vice in and Hiedra gets a LONG two. Here’s La Catalina down to spear Maravilla and blast a charging Flammer with a right. Vice slaps a sleeper on Hiedra who rolls right through and covers Vice for two. Vice fires off a second backfist and that ends things.

I like simple storytelling in wrestling. Las Toxicas have enemies in Vice, Catalina, and Bayley (when she’s around) and so this match made sense from that perspective. There’s a showdown coming with Flammer and Catalina but for now, this match helped advance all of that while giving Vice and Hiedra some shine. Hiedra doesn’t sell a ton and Vice’s offense is what it is at this point (if you watch NXT, you know what I mean – the moveset is the moveset and we do not vary from it when it comes to Vice). Still, this worked, the crowd was into it, and despite the overbooking, everyone went home happy here. 3.5*

Winner AND STILL NXT Women’s Champion – Lola Vice (backfist)

Post-match sees Las Toxicas attack and here’s Lady Shani down to help even up the numbers. Shani runs through Las Toxicas and sends them all out before checking on Vice and Catalina. There’s a lot of verbals as the credits roll and we’re out.

A quick one tonight, just 45 minutes or so, but still one of the best hours of wrestling remains as such. Mecha and Galeno had a nice hossy battle, and the NXT women’s title match was a solid affair with a slight bit overbooking. You can make 45 minutes to watch this one friends. Next week looks to be fun as well.

Thanks for reading and commenting. Enjoy all the wrestling this weekend and make sure to check out our blog writer’s preview of all of the Sunday action (THERE’S A LOT).
