Morning Daily News Update: June 26, 2026 – Tiger Mask IV Reveals Hulk Hogan’s Scrapped Wrestling Promotion Plans

Tiger Mask IV Says Hulk Hogan Planned To Launch Promotion After Leaving WWE In 2003

Tiger Mask IV has revealed that Hulk Hogan once planned to launch his own wrestling promotion after leaving WWE in 2003. Speaking to NJPW1972.com, Tiger Mask IV recalled Hogan and Jimmy Hart approaching him during a New Japan Pro-Wrestling event about joining the proposed promotion, even offering him a place to stay at Hogan’s home. However, the project never materialised, and Hogan ultimately returned to WWE in 2005.

Tony Khan Addresses Interest In Buying TNA Wrestling

Tony Khan says he has no immediate interest in buying TNA Wrestling, despite recent speculation about the promotion’s future. Speaking during AEW’s pre-Forbidden Door media call, Khan laughed off the suggestion of paying a reported $40 million for TNA before explaining that, while he believes the company has value, any potential acquisition would depend on the asking price. He added that purchasing TNA is not a priority and that he has not seriously discussed it.

Triple H Believes Fans Can Take WWE Too Seriously

Triple H says WWE’s goal is to provide entertainment for everyone and believes some fans take the product too seriously. Speaking with Stephen A. Smith, the WWE Chief Content Officer said the company offers a mix of serious storytelling and lighter characters, ensuring there’s “something for everybody.” He encouraged fans to tune in even if they’ve been away, adding that WWE’s stories never truly end and describing the promotion as an escape from everyday life where people can simply switch off and have fun for a few hours.
