NXT Revenge: Part Two Review – 04.21.26

By Niz on 21 April 2026

It’s been an incredible week in WWE, so if you missed anything, here’s your chance to catch up: Evolve | Impact | Smackdown | Wrestlemania Saturday | Wrestlemania Sunday | Raw | The Heartbreak Kid: Becoming Shawn Michaels

Tonight is the second and final part of NXT Revenge, and it’s coming to the CW/Netflix airwaves from The Performance Center in Orlando, FL. The announcing team for tonight’s show are Vic Joseph and Booker T on match calls and analysis, Mike Rome on ring introductions, and Sarah Schreiber on backstage interviews and breaking news segments. Let’s watch some wrestling!

Then, Now, Forever…..TOGETHER

NXT Men’s North American Championship: Myles Borne (C) vs Dion Lennox

Lennox is accompanied by Saquon Shugars, Osiris Griffin and Cutler James. Mike Rome does in-ring intros and off we go. Borne charges right into a Lennox spinebuster at the bell and Lennox’s quick cover gets two. Lennox drives in a shoulder and then gets caught with a Borne lariat and dropkick as the momentum shifts. Borne fires off some forearms and ducks a high boot attempt from Lennox. Lennox hits a Northern Lights suplex for two, and then Borne fires up with a vertical suplex that gets two. Lennox fires up with a flurry of rights but walks into a Borne snap powerslam that gets two. Lennox bails to the floor and Borne responds with a tope con hilo on Lennox and Griffin, who had wandered over for a consult. Borne whips Lennox back in and turns to deal with the other three Darkstate goofs, which gives Lennox time to fire off a lariat. Lennox runs Borne into the exposed apron, and we go to commercials.

They’re slugging it out when the show returns and Borne takes the advantage with a couple of lariats. Borne gets dumped to the floor and Lennox goes out to fire off some rights. Lennox misses a kick along the ring steps and Borne has a short flurry of rights cut off when Lennox backdrops him on the steps bottom. Lennox rolls Borne in for a cover that gets two. Lennox goes to clubbering rights and a slingshot powerbomb that gets two. Borne fires up with an elbow, a kick, and a DDT. Borne hits some lariats and an uppercut before smashing Lennox with a backbreaker. Borne hits a rolling neckbreaker and covers Lennox for two. Borne ascends and Shugars jumps up to interfere giving Lennox enough time to blast Borne with a right. Borne shakes it off but gets crotched by Lennox who then ascends again. Lennox hits a superplex and Borne prevents the cover by going nose to nose with Lennox. They slug it out and clobber each other with simultaneous lariats. Shugars “calls a play” as Joseph calls it, and distracts the ref while James saves Lennox from a Borne Again attempt. Borne pushes Griffin off the apron and pushes Lennox into Shugars on the apron. Lennox bounces off and right into Borne Again. Borne covers and gets three.

The Trials of Darkstate continue on, and Borne picks up a nice win to solidify his early going here with the Men’s NA title. This was solid, despite the interference stuff and a bit too much time on the floor for me typically. I’m guessing we’ll hear more from Darkstate as the evening rolls on and I’d think Borne can move on to someone else? Hopefully? Let’s hope for that. Good opener. 3*

Winner AND STILL NXT Men’s North American Champion – Myles Borne (Borne Again)

Here’s Blake Monroe with The Vanity Project and her fake belt. She claims that she’ll win the casket match tonight and dismisses the Project so they can visit a hottie across the street. We go to commercials.

Saquon Shugars is trying to get a word with NXT GM Robert Stone who tells him that he does not like interference in matches. Shugars wants another chance for Lennox, and they walk by Shiloh Hill and NXT Women’s North American Champion Tatum Paxley. Paxley puts over Hill’s appearance in Smackdown’s ARMBAR match (Recap linked above!) but Hill says tonight is about Paxley putting Monroe into the casket and slamming the door shut. Paxley is nervous about potential Vanity Project interference but Hill mentions that he catfished them to keep them away from ringside tonight. Hill has a match next week with Ricky Saints and is off to chat with Robert Stone about it.

Joe Hendry vs Keanu Carver

Hendry takes the early advantage with some chops and a high boot. Hendry clips Carver and drives in a knee that gets a quick two count. Carver chokes Hendry into a corner and drives in some shoulders. Carver whips Hendry into another corner and pounds away before whipping him into another corner. Carver puts Hendry into a standing backbreaker but Hendry trips him up after slipping off. Hendry drives Carver to the floor with a lariat and we go to commercials.

Carver hits a release German when the show returns as Joseph says he’s been dominating through the break. Carver puts the boots to Hendry along the ropes and then yanks him up for a backbreaker over his knee. Carver covers and gets two. Carver hits another backbreaker and torques on Hendry’s neck. Hendry escapes and slips a Carver charge. Hendry fires off some rights and a clothesline. Hendry hits a discus lariat and pulls Carver up for a fall away slam. Hendry turns into a Carver lariat and a pop up spinebuster. Carver starts dropping right hands and the ref calls for the bell. The ref has to pull Carver off as he continues to drop right forearms onto a defenseless Hendry.

Okay, let’s get this out of the way first – Carver still needs a lot of reps. However, this was about as decisive as you can get in terms of putting someone over on the way out the door (if you missed it, Hendry will be debuting on Raw as a full-timer next week). Carver gets a signature win over a former NXT champion and I’m sure this will propel him towards bigger things even if he’s not quite there yet as a finished article. Hendry does the job on the way out, and we’ll all just move on from this. 2.25*

Winner – Keanu Carver (ref stoppage)

THE NXT SPOTLIGHT PRESENTED BY PROGRESSIVE is on Lizzy Rain (The former Rayne Leverkeusen) who has a heavy metal gimmick and will be debuting next Tuesday.

WWE Men’s Speed Championship: Lexis King vs EK Prosper

Stacks Lorenzo, Charles Dempsey, Uriah Connors and TNA Knockouts Champion Arianna Grace are out with King. Speed title matches have a five minute time limit, as a reminder. Prosper hits a backslide to start but King slips out of it and they slug it out. There’s some acrobatics and Prosper snaps off a couple dropkicks. Prosper hits a springboard legdrop that gets two. Prosper wants a dive but King pulls Grace in front of him to prevent it. King stops a Prosper flurry and with a back kick and then hits a double stomp. King hits a running shotgun dropkick and covers Prosper for two. They slug it out and Prosper catches King with a running leg lariat that gets two. Prosper misses a charge and King takes over with a backbreaker. King hits a Lungblower and gets two. Prosper fires up with an enziguri and then hits an Exploder to send King to a corner. Prosper ascends but King recovers to send him to the apron. They fight it out on the apron and Prosper dumps King to the floor. Prosper hits a moonsault on everyone on the floor before firing King back in. Grace slaps Prosper and he fights his way out of further interference only to walk into a Coronation by King. King covers and gets three with 28 seconds left to go.

Shawn is figuring out how to book these things. Now, no one sells and things move really fast, but telling the mini-stories here is getting much better than when these titles first got dumped down to NXT. King mostly bumped around here before winning and Prosper continues to show off some solid athleticism. We’ll see what’s next for him, and for King, he can strut around with Birthright’s second title belt for awhile. Not too bad for a sprint. 2.5*

Winner AND NEW WWE Men’s Speed Champion – Lexis King (Corornation)

Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes post a video to Instagram of Jackson Drake getting stood up by his “date”. Drake talks about himself in the third person and compares himself to LeBron James. He’s approached by a woman in the bar who asks if he got stood up.

Blake Monroe is dressed in a funeral veil and makes her way to ringside with some flowers as we go to commercials.

Saquon Shugars approaches the rest of Darkstate and says he got them a rematch, but it’s not Lennox who got the match, it’s Shugars. Lennox seems disappointed and Shugars points out that Darkstate is all for one. Lennox seems less than convinced but eventually hits the catchphrase.

Highlights of Sol Ruca‘s Raw debut are shown along with the subsequent Zaria interference that ended up costing Ruca the match against Liv Morgan (See Kat’s excellent review for further details!)

NXT Women’s North American Championship Casket Match: Tatum Paxley (C) vs Blake Monroe

Mike Rome does the in-ring intros, and we get going with a hockey fight in the middle of the ring. Paxley hits a knee drop and sends Monroe into the casket, but she leaps right out of it. They go back in and Paxley misses a charge. Monroe mounts Paxley on a top turnbuckle and wants a rana, but Paxley sends her to the floor. Paxley gets the flowers and smashes Monroe with them but Monroe fires off an elbow in response. Paxley hits a forearm and pulls out a dollhouse from under the ring. Paxley gets dropkicked into the dollhouse and we go to commercials.

Paxley grazes Monroe with an enziguri and then smacks her around with some forearms and a kick. Paxley snaps off a German and then hits a rolling legdrop. Paxley rolls Monroe into the casket but Monroe uses a pillow to get out of it. They both go into the casket and the lid is closed, but Monroe pushes up the lid and her and Paxley cackle at each other. They go to the apron to slug it out and they end up on top of the closed casket to slug it out some more. Paxley hits a Spanish Fly to the floor off the casket and everything gets muted for awhile because the crowd said something naughty. Monroe grabs a fire extinguisher and uses it on Paxley before pulling her into the Glamour Shot on the floor. Monroe pushes Paxley in but when she slams the door, Paxley has the fake belt that Monroe’s been using and prevents the lid from going fully shut. They go into the ring and Monroe smacks Paxley around with the fake belt. Monroe picks up the pillow she used earlier and it’s actually filled with cubic zirconias. Monroe gets pulled into the Cemetery Drive on the zirconias. Monroe goes to the apron right towards the casket, and Paxley hits a rolling Pele kick that sends Monroe into the casket. Paxley slams the door shut and that’s it.

I didn’t think this was very good but the crowd was WAY into it the entire time. These two need to get away from each other and I have a suspicion that this might have been Monroe’s exit from the brand (I think she might show up Friday night on Smackdown, but we’ll see). Stipulation plunder matches always stray towards the ridiculous and this was exactly that scenario, and it’s really hard to rate something like this in the context of a regular match. The crowd, as I mentioned, was very into it and in that regard, we’ll call it 2.5* and just move on with our lives.

Winner AND STILL NXT Women’s North American Champion – Tatum Paxley (Rolling Pele Kick, closed casket)

Jackson Drake is chatting up the woman in the bar, who it turns out used to be a mortician’s assistant (Ed. note: This person is Myka Lockwood, who is a WWE talent – I did not know this at the time of recapping the show.). Drake seems happy with the situation as she points out that the woman he was supposed to be meeting was an AI bot. Drake figures out it was Shiloh Hill, but decides to leave with the woman to get some food with Baylor and Smokes in tow.

NXT Women’s Champion Lola Vice is on her way to the ring for a chat. I bet she’ll get interrupted. We go to commercials.

Vice says she made a statement by defeating Jacy Jayne last week when the show returns. Vice puts over Jayne’s accomplishments and says the hardest part of being a champion is not winning it but keeping it. Vice says THIS DIVISION is hungry and the women were circling last week. Vice likes it, though, because it could mean that you could potentially main event Wrestlemania some day. Vice says she was the girl who was looking for her chance and she gets why everyone is coming after her. Vice says you’re stepping up for a fight if you step to her, though. Here’s The Culling out and Izzi Dame comes in to ask if Vice has started to feel all the eyes on her. Dame says she’s watching and learning to be able to take advantage when Vice eventually makes a mistake. Dame says she’s going to rip Vice apart and Vice is going to thank her for it. Vice says she hopes Dame takes her shot, and Dame tells her to not tempt her with a good time. Vance distracts Vice and Dame flies in with a high boot that drops Vice to the mat. Dame yanks off the Women’s title belt and poses with it over a fallen Vice.

This promo battle was underwhelming, to say the least. Vice went on too long and kept saying the same thing, and Dame is at the point where she’s getting go-away heat from the crowd. Not a great segment to build to this confrontation.

Sara Schreiber is backstage with Birthright and the new Men’s Speed Champion Lexis King. King says he’s the fastest man alive and NXT finally has a champ who was born to do this. King says they aren’t going to stop until everyone has a belt. EK Prosper comes in to say that without his crew King never would have won. Dorian Van Dux joins the scene to also insult Birthright, and it looks like we’re going to have a tag match next week. We go to commercials.

The show returns with THE NXT CHRONICLE and the subject is Kendal Grey. Grey runs down her amateur wrestling accomplishments. Grey describes herself as a tomboy and she gets that from her mom, while she and her dad bonded over sports. Grey talks about getting bit by a dog and getting busted open during a wrestling match in terms of her scars. Grey is obsessed with winning and she knows there’s a ton of work to be done so she can become NXT Women’s Champion.

This was really well done. A good look at the actual future of THIS DIVISION.

Lola Vice is chatting with Robert Stone and assures him she’ll be okay. Vice says she needs to even the odds against Dame and the Culling dudes, and suddenly there’s a loud crash. Stone rushes over and finds Ricky Saints kicking the crap out of Shiloh Hill. They’ll meet next week assuming Hill can go. Joseph runs down the other booked matches as Sol Ruca makes her entrance. We go to commercials.

Sarah Schreiber catches up with Robert Stone who promises an update on Shiloh Hill as soon as he has one. Stone turns a corner and runs into NXT Men’s Champion Tony D’Angelo who’s being given a box with a kanji character on the top of it. Stone promises to have an update on D’Angelo’s next challenger by next week. Keanu Carver joins the scene and D’Angelo questions if the box came from him, but Carver says no and if he wants something, he’ll just take it. Carver says the kanji is the symbol of war and the sharks are circling.

Last Woman Standing: Sol Ruca vs Zaria

Zaria sneaks in behind Ruca, but she misses her charge and Ruca catches her in a Thesz Press before going to work with ground and pound. Ruca sends Zaria to the floor and hits a springboard torneo. Ruca runs into a Zaria high boot and then Zaria whips a trashcan at Ruca’s head. Ruca finds a kendo stick but Zaria prevents the strike. Zaria finds the trashcan and Ruca smashes it with a dropkick that sends both of them to the floor. Zaria uses a ringside cable as a whip and smashes Ruca around with it, before wrapping it around Ruca’s neck. Zaria hoists Ruca up on the apron before dropping her. Ruca finds a trashcan lid and uses it on Zaria’s head and both are back in the ring. Ruca hits an X-Factor and grabs the kendo stick. Ruca smashes Zaria a few times and then gets a “one more time” chant. Ruca puts the kendo stick across Zaria’s mouth and then drives her down to the mat with her boot. Zaria pulls herself up at eight and Ruca immediately tries for a sunset flip. Zaria fights her way off of it and drops Ruca with a huge pump kick. Zaria hoists Ruca up but Ruca fights her way off of it and drives Zaria through the bottom of the NXT Roost. Ruca emerges first and Zaria beats the count at nine. We go to commercials.

They’re slugging it out on top of the barricade when the show returns. Zaria hoists Ruca up and drops her face-first through the announce table. Ruca beats the count and Zaria sets up a table near the Roost. Ruca snaps off a German and then runs Zaria over with a running knee. Ruca moves the table and Zaria drives her down from behind. Zaria finds a second table and moves it into position next to the other one. Ruca uses a portion of the destroyed announce table to smash Zaria around before mounting her on the tables. Ruca ascends to the top of the Roost and Zaria has disappeared. Zaria looms up behind Ruca and Ruca slips a charge before hitting a Sol Snatcher on top of the Roost! They both beat the count and start slugging it out furiously. Ruca appears to save Zaria from falling and pulls her away from the edge. Ruca tears up, as does Zaria. They hug and Zaria whispers something before pushing Ruca off the top. Ruca goes through one table and appears to smack her head on the edge of the second one. The referee flies down and counts to ten.

The big last spot clearly did not go as planned, and we’ll have to hope Ruca is okay. The match itself was intense and hard-hitting, and if you’re going to blow off a long LONG story, this was a good way to do it. Zaria finally wins a big match and Ruca leaves to join the main roster. Ruca will be fine on Raw, she’ll make a lot of people very happy and put on good-to-great matches basically every chance she gets. Zaria needs to follow this up with something that makes sense and isn’t just “Oh, Jaida Parker looked at me wrong so now I’m going to fight her for three months.” Lola Vice mentioned her by name, though, so perhaps she’ll make some noise about the main title and we’ll see how she fares. 3.25*

Winner – Zaria (Ruca cannot beat the ten count after going through a table from the NXT Roost)

Ruca is down and out as Zaria stands tall. Joseph tries to describe the scene but there’s a hard out at 10 PM Eastern and he gets cut off mid-sentence.

I liked tonight’s show overall. I think knowing that it was the end of the line on NXT for Joe Hendry and Sol Ruca made things a bit anti-climatic but they both did the business on the way out. The roster is undergoing some major changes and as I mentioned, I have suspicions that tonight might have been it for Blake Monroe as well – Smackdown could use some women’s talent influx and soon. Shawn will be a busy person over the next month or so, that is for sure. We’ll see how he handles all of this transition.

Thanks for reading and commenting, as always. There’s been a LOT written on the site lately, so please make sure to give all the reviews some love and attention when you can. Have a good week.
