It’s Thursday, and I don’t know what the score is everywhere else, but in the UK it’s a national holiday tomorrow, so the weekend starts tonight! But before we can get to that, it’s time for the Morning Daily News Update!

Chris Jericho Returned To AEW Dynamite
Chris Jericho made his return to AEW Dynamite last night in his hometown of Winnipeg, marking his first appearance in around a year. Jericho briefly addressed the crowd with “I’m home” but did not comment on speculation surrounding his future, which had included rumours of a WWE return during his absence. Reports had indicated his AEW contract was extended due to time missed, and recent backstage belief pointed towards his return to AEW. Jericho, the promotion’s first world champion, had been away since April 2025 following his loss to Bandido at Dynasty.
Randy Orton Says He’ll See Mystery Phone Friend On WWE SmackDown
Randy Orton has continued teasing an alliance with a mystery “phone friend” following his heel turn on Cody Rhodes, confirming he will meet the individual on the April 3 episode of WWE SmackDown in St. Louis. Orton, who earned a WrestleMania 42 title shot after winning the Elimination Chamber, has embraced a more aggressive persona, attacking multiple names while hinting that the mystery ally could soon be revealed.
NXT Star Undergoes Hip Surgery
Tyson Dupont has undergone hip surgery after dealing with ongoing pain since mid-2025, confirming the news in a social media video while remaining optimistic about his recovery. The NXT talent said he had tried to push through the injury but felt the timing was right to address it, calling it a “minor setback for a major comeback.” Dupont, part of the High Ryze tag team, has been largely inactive in recent months, with no timeline currently set for his return.
Lady Frost Thanks Tony Khan & AEW, Signs With New Promotion
Lady Frost has confirmed her departure from All Elite Wrestling, thanking Tony Khan for her time in the company before quickly signing with Major League Wrestling. Frost became a free agent on April 1 following a planned contract expiration, but revealed just hours later she was no longer available, with reports confirming MLW moved quickly to secure her signing.
