AAA Rey de Reyes 2026 Part 2 – 03.21.26
By Niz on 21 March 2026
It’s always busy in WWE so let’s catch up: Raw | NXT | Evolve | Impact | Smackdown
Tonight’s 29th annual Rey de Reyes comes to Youtube from the Auditorio GNP Seguros in Puebla de Zaragoza, Mexico. The American announcing team are Corey Graves, Rey Mysterio and JBL. Tonight’s show is recorded but there is still Part 3 next week so if you see spoilers for the entire show, please DO NOT DISCUSS THEM in the comments. Thanks! With that out of the way, let’s watch some lucha libre!
Then, Now, Forever…..TOGETHER
We open with a highlights package about last week‘s immense main event that saw El Grande Americano Nuevo claim the Rey de Reyes title and sword – that presentation will happen tonight!
Arrivals include Mr Iguana and Lola Vice along with Rey Fenix. Los Psychos Circus are here with their tag titles in tow, and El Grande Americano Nuevo is celebrating with some fans prior to his presentation.
La Hiedra and Money Machine (Colmillo de Plata and Garra de Oro) vs Lola Vice, Mr Iguana, and Rey Fenix
JBL insists that his good friend Pimpinela Escarlata has informed him that Lola Vice and Mr Iguana are a couple. I wonder if Damian Priest might have some thoughts about that. Rey Mysterio runs down the list of mentors that Rey Fenix has had and it’s very much a who’s who of lucha.
It’s Fenix and Oro to start. Oro works a wristlock and then rams a boot into Fenix’s gut. There’s some acrobatics and Fenix wallops Oro with a dropkick. Plata charges in and gets dropped by an Iguana top rope rana, and then Hiedra slides in to get smashed by a Vice superkick. Vice, Iguana, and Fenix want to do some topes but the rudos all make an escape. Iguana and Oro slug it out mid-ring and Iguana hits an armdrag, so Plata comes in and gets dropped by an Iguana rana. Iguana’s cover gets two. Iguana wants La Yesca but Oro intercepts the pass and gives La Yesca to Hiedra. Plata and Oro work over Iguana and Oro hits a splash that gets two. Plata and Oro drop Fenix with a double team move and then take La Yesca back from Hiedra. They attempt to pull apart La Yesca, but instead send him to the mat before hitting double leg drops on the poor thing. Iguana charges in and wallops Oro with a tornado DDT. Hiedra and Vice tag in and Vice goes to work with her rapid-fire low kicks. Vice hits a couple of Hip Attacks on Hiedra who goes to the floor. Vice follows out and waffles Plata with a dive. Hiedra sneaks up and rams Vice into the ring steps before they both go back in. Hiedra hits a stunner on Vice and then gives Vice a Hip Attack of her own.
Hiedra yanks on Vice’s hair but Vice shakes that off with some punches. Hiedra cuts that flurry off with a facebreaker before smacking Iguana in the face. Vice hits a back thrust kick and gets a one count, and then Hiedra and Vice hit simultaneous flying headbutts. Oro and Fenix tag in and Fenix wipes out Oro and Plata with punches. Fenix dumps a charging Hiedra and hits a bunch of kicks on Oro. Plata charges in and Fenix wipes him out with a reverse thrust kick. Fenix and Oro go up top and Fenix crushes Oro with an inverted Spanish Fly that gets two. Fenix ascends and wallops Plata with a running kick and a torneo to the floor. Iguana tags in and drops Oro with a helicopter bulldog that gets two. Hiedra yanks Iguana off the cover and Vice wipes out Hiedra with a rolling tackle. La Yesca makes a comeback in combination with Iguana hitting a top rope dive to the floor on Plata. Fenix yanks up Oro for the Fenix Driver and covers him for three!
I enjoyed this a bunch and while I don’t think Fenix has been any great shakes in WWE, he looked motivated as heck in this match. Iguana got most of his stuff in and Vice played her part in dealing with the larger Hiedra. Money Machine were there to mostly bump around for the technicos and they did a fine job of that. No issues with this but I’d like to see Vice and Hiedra mix it up in singles at some point. 3*
Winners – Lola Vice, Mr Iguana and Rey Fenix (Fenix Driver on Oro)
Chelsea Green has been taking in the match backstage and she’s kind of grumpy about Ethan Page and La Hiedra losing the mixed tag titles while she was out injured. Green runs down her list of accomplishments and mentions that she’s the longest reigning Triple Ah Ah Ah Women’s tag team champion. Alrighty.
AAA Men’s World Tag Team Championship: Los Psychos Circus (Psycho Clown and Pagano) vs The War Raiders (Erik and Ivar)
Pagano is wearing a similar mask to Psychosis this evening, and Rey Mysterio is properly impressed. Psycho and Pagano seem to be on the same page tonight after all the attacks on their comrades in Los Psychos Circus.
The Raiders attack at the bell and Ivar and Psycho battle on the floor while Erik and Pagano go to war in the ring. Pagano decides to switch places with Psycho so he heads outside to hit Ivar with a suicide dive. Psycho goes back in drop Erik with a cross-body and then puts the boots to him. Ivar re-enters with Pagano, and Pagano fights off both Raiders before dropping them both with a combo DDT-rolling neckbreaker combo. Erik gets hoisted and Pagano drops him with an Air Raid Crash. Pagano ascends and fights off Ivar, but that gives Erik enough time to recover and smash Pagano with a forearm. Ivar tags in and he smashes Pagano with a rolling splash against the ring steps. Ivar yanks Pagano up and runs him back in before covering and gettting two. Ivar goes to some ground and pound before tagging Erik back in. Erik fires off a right and then holds Pagano off from making a tag. Pagano gets smashed with a knee and Erik covers him for two.
Erik smacks Pagano in the ear with an elbow and tags in Ivar. Erik yanks up Ivar and slams him onto Pagano. Ivar covers Pagano and gets two. A pissed Ivar starts stamping his boot on Pagano’s face before tagging in Erik. Pagano finally makes a tag and Psycho runs wild on Erik and Ivar before his flurry ends with a Code Red on Ivar. Psycho ascends and crushes Erik with a dive. Psycho goes back in and hits a second rope moonsault on Ivar that gets two. Psycho gets crushed by an Ivar seated senton, and then Erik comes flying in with some shotgun knees. Erik and Ivar drop a charging Pagano, and then Erik drives Ivar into a prone Psycho. Ivar hits a lofted powerslam on Psycho and covers him for two. Erik tags in and he and Ivar hoist Psycho, but he slips off and waffles Ivar with an enziguri. Pagano tags in and ascends for a springboard dropkick on Erik. Pagano yanks Erik up for EMERALD FROSION but only gets two because he doesn’t hook the leg.
Erik and Pagano slug it out before Pagano waffles Erik with a running elbow. Erik fires back with an elbow of his own. Erik yanks Pagano over with a side suplex, but Pagano springs up to waffle Erik with an elbow. Ivar tags in and he hits a spin kick that drops Pagano. Ivar ascends and crushes Pagano with a moonsault. Psycho breaks up the cover at two with a frog splash. Psycho yanks up Ivar for the Psycho Driver but he can’t make the cover due to exhaustion. Everyone rises and Psycho yanks off his mask to reveal a blood red one underneath. Psycho hits a powerslam on Erik, and then he and Pagano combine to drop Ivar. Psycho hits a split-legged moonsault on Ivar, and then Pagano ascends to hit a top rope legdrop on Ivar that gets two. Erik breaks up the cover and grabs a chair after getting dumped. Pagano inadvertently smacks Psycho with an elbow and Psycho doesn’t seem pleased. Ivar breaks that up by smashing Pagano from behind and everyone starts fighting again. The ref gets pushed around by everyone and he calls for the bell to end things. Everyone keeps fighting as a ton of officials charge out from the back to break things up. The Raiders grab chairs and the clowns grab kendo sticks, but the officials stop it from escalating. Everyone fights on the ramp and heads to the back.
DAMN. That was a war until that contrived finish. There have been ongoing issues within Los Psychos Circus and so the tease of Pagano and Psycho getting into it really perked up the crowd, who were getting a show up until that point. The Raiders hit a lot of their big power moves and this was a hell of a fight, quite frankly. The finish hurts this a bit, obviously, but hopefully we’ll get a rematch somewhere down the road so there can be a decisive set of winners. 3.75*
Match stopped due to referee abuse – No winner – Los Psychos Circus retain their titles
Dorian Roldan is on the phone while El Hijo del Vikingo complains to a bored Omos. Roldan tells his mom that he loves her and that he’ll be well-behaved. Roldan hangs up and then confronts Vikingo. Roldan tells Vikingo he’s destined for bigger and better things. Roldan wants Vikingo to challenge Penta for the Intercontinental title and Vikingo seems to settle down once he considers that possibility.
It’s time for the sword presentation and Marisela Pena is in the ring with Dorian Roldan. Chessman emerges with his sword and gets a warm welcome. The 2015 winner Texano Jr is introduced next and he also gets a very nice hand. Next out is Cibernetico who won the sword in 1999 and the crowd really loves him. Everyone rises as El Grande Americano Nuevo is introduced to an immense pop. EGA kisses a super cute baby before continuing to celebrate with the crowd. JBL is still very salty about EGA getting into the qualifier at the expense of Pimpi. EGA bows to Marisela Pena and offers a hand to Dorian Roldan, who reluctantly shakes it. EGA looks emotional about this entire thing, and he grabs a microphone. EGA thanks the people and says it’s a great pleasure to be here with the crowd and the legends of lucha that are in the ring. EGA puts over the legends for making AAA what it is today, and then thanks Marisela Pena as well. EGA is grateful for being able to take the sword, and then thanks the people in the crowd before calling them his familia. EGA takes a few shots at EGA-OG and says his fans will never understand what we have here in Mexico. EGA puts over the people of Mexico and then bows to the crowd. Here’s AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio out with a microphone as everyone but EGA exits the ring. Dom shakes EGA’s hand and congratulates EGA for winning the sword while also taking a shot at Rey Mysterio never winning the sword OR the Mega Championship. Dom is not happy about EGA having a title shot though, and offers a match right now. Here’s El Grande Americano Original to attack EGA from behind. Original just destroys Nuevo while Dom looks on impassively. Original goes for the mask and here’s Rayo and Bravo out to help Nuevo finally. Original takes the sword and stands on the announce desk before hoisting it over his head.
The credits roll as Los Americanos look on in horror.
Another super fun episode of AAA tonight including an absolute war between Los Psychos Circus and the War Raiders. The six person tag that opened the show was decent and everyone worked hard to get the crowd into it. This show is such an easy and fun watch week after week and it’s such a pleasure to recap. Thumbs up, and we can all look forward to Part 3 next week with a big four-way match for Laredo Kid’s Cruiserweight championship.
Thanks for reading and commenting. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
