Former WWE Star Debuts On AEW Dynamite

Tommaso Ciampa made his AEW debut on Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite, answering Mark Briscoe’s open challenge after Briscoe retained the TNT Championship. Ciampa appeared via a dramatic lights-out segment and came face-to-face with Briscoe, with their title match confirmed for Saturday’s AEW Collision. This will mark Ciampa’s first match since leaving WWE earlier this month and his first non-WWE appearance in over a decade.

Brock Lesnar Announces WWE Royal Rumble Entry

Brock Lesnar has confirmed he will compete in the Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia after making a surprise appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. Lesnar, who has been absent from WWE since Survivor Series: WarGames, said he is “in shape” and intends to win the match. His announcement comes the same day Triple H promised “a lot of surprises” for what he called a star-studded Royal Rumble.

Samoa Joe Suffered Non-Contact Injury In Training, Not Cleared

Samoa Joe has suffered a non-contact injury in training and is currently not cleared to compete, according to an announcement on AEW Dynamite. No timetable was given for his return, leaving his status in the AEW World Title picture uncertain after recently targeting MJF. Joe last wrestled on the January 12 episode of Dynamite, defeating “Speedball” Mike Bailey.

AEW’s Jake Doyle torn bicep injury confirmed

In other AEW injury news, Jake Doyle suffered a torn bicep during his AEW World Tag Team Title match on last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite while taking an apron DDT from Cash Wheeler. The injury was confirmed by Bryan Alvarez, with no official timetable yet announced for Doyle’s return after his recent move from TNA Wrestling and alignment with the Don Callis Family. Recovery from a torn bicep typically takes several months.
