The Smashing Machine Opens to Career-Low Box Office for Dwayne Johnson
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s latest movie, “The Smashing Machine”, has opened at the box office at an all-time career low for The Rock, as the movie garnered just $6 million in its opening weekend. This is the lowest box office opening ever for a movie with Rock as the lead star, as the previous record was held by 2010’s “Faster”, which opened at just over $8.5 million. “The Smashing Machine”, a biopic about MMA star Mark Kerr, cost $50 million to make, so it’s going to have a hard time trying to break even, let alone be profitable.
Donald Trump announces White House UFC date after agreeing to host iconic fight card
Not wrestling news, but TKO owns both WWE and UFC, so close enough. United States President Donald Trump has announced that a UFC event will be held at the White House on June 14, 2026, which is also the President’s 80th birthday. Trump made the announcement at an event during a speech to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the U.S. Navy.
WWE LFG season 2 winners revealed
The season 2 winners of WWE LFG have been revealed as Shawn Michaels picked Dani Sekelsky and Shiloh Hill as this season’s winners. Both winners were part of The Undertaker’s team, and both Sekelsky and Hill will join the NXT roster and make their debuts soon.
Injured WWE Star Ridge Holland Provides Update Following Surgery
Ridge Holland, who picked up an injury at a recent TNA TV taping, updated fans following a successful surgery he had on Saturday to repair damage caused due to a Lisfranc injury he suffered while wrestling Moose at the TV tapings. Holland said that he will be focused on getting back into the ring as soon as he can and remains positive that he will have a future in wrestling despite the injury setback.
