Morning Daily News Update
By Conor Renshaw on 1 September 2025
Good morning, everyone!
I hope you all enjoyed your weekend and you’re all raring and ready to go for Monday’s Morning Daily News Update! Nothing new to report after last night’s Daily Update, but I’m sure we’ll see some great stuff this week!
Report: AJ Lee brought up in ‘numerous pitches’ internally within WWE
It has been reported that AJ Lee’s name has been brought up for a possible return to the promotion numerous times as of late, and that they haven’t been shut down like they used to be. There has been speculation that Lee could return, given how Clash in Paris ended with Becky Lynch assisting her husband, Seth Rollins, in his match against Lee’s husband, CM Punk, by low-blowing Punk to allow Rollins to deliver a Stomp to retain his World Heavyweight Championship. Many believe this will set up a mixed tag match with Rollins and Lynch facing off against Punk and Lee.
Roman Reigns Stretchered Out Of WWE Clash In Paris
In more Clash in Paris news, Roman Reigns was written off of TV with an injury angle on last night’s show when The Vision delivered a vicious assault following Reigns’ win against Bronson Reed. Reigns was speared numerous times by Bron Breakker, and Reed delivered multiple Tsunami Splashes to Reigns, who was then wheeled out of the arena on a stretcher. It is likely this was done in order for Reigns to be given time off to film his role in the upcoming Street Fighter movie.
Scarlett Bordeaux Confirms She Will Be Returning To The Ring
Former WWE star Scarlett Bordeaux has confirmed that she will be returning to the ring and that she has been in training and will be tagging with one of her trainers very soon. Bordeaux said that she is very excited to get back in the ring, as she hasn’t wrestled since December 29, 2024, at a WWE Live event. Karrion Kross will be wrestling in his first post-WWE match at a WrestlePro event on September 21.
Swerve Strickland Back In The Gym After Meniscus Surgery
Former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland has updated fans on social media that he is back in the gym, working on his recovery, just three days after having meniscus surgery. Strickland underwent surgery on August 27 to fix a knee injury that has been plaguing him since 2019. There is currently no timetable for his return to the ring, but he did say that his surgery has been successful.
