Roman Reigns Stretchered Out Of WWE Clash In Paris
By Conor Renshaw on 1 September 2025
Following his win against Bronson Reed at WWE’s Clash in Paris pay-per-view yesterday, Roman Reigns was taken out of the arena on a stretcher.
Reigns defeated Reed to open the show last night in a match that went over 20 minutes, and Reigns confronted Paul Heyman and demanded that he return his shoes that Reed had stolen from him on the July 28 and August 4 episodes of Raw. Heyman gave Reigns back the shoes, and then Reigns attacked Heyman and put him in a chokehold before celebrating atop the announcer’s desk.
However, Bron Breakker then entered to deliver a spear to Reigns and put him through the announcer’s table, and as Reigns was being helped to the back, Breakker ran down the entrance ramp and speared Reigns again. Bronson Reed then got involved and delivered a Tsunami Splash to Reigns, and as Breakker and Reed helped Heyman to the back, medics strapped Reigns to a stretcher, but Reed then delivered more Tsunami’s to Reigns whilst he was strapped to the board.
Jey Uso then came out to attempt to save Reigns, but was met with a spear by Breakker as well. Michael Cole later announced on commentary that if either Reed or Breakker returned to the building, they would be suspended from the company.
Why Is WWE Seemingly Doing An Injury Angle With Roman Reigns?
This angle with Roman Reigns being stretchered out of the building by medics is seemingly an injury angle that will give WWE an excuse to write him off TV for a while. The reason for this is widely believed to allow Reigns time travel to Australia to begin filming for the upcoming Street Fighter movie, which began principal photography in Australia on August 18.
Reigns has been cast in the movie as the villain Akuma, which in Japanese means “Devil” or “Demon”, and first appeared in the Street Fighter video game series in Street Fighter II Turbo as a secret character and is the younger brother of Gouken, who is Ryu and Ken’s master.
What do you think about this possible injury angle? Do you think Reigns will be gone for a while whilst he films Street Fighter, or will he be back sooner? And when he does come back, will he go straight after The Vision again?
