Morning Daily News Update

By Conor Renshaw on 21 August 2025

Morning, all!

It’s Morning Daily News time again! It still feels like Autumn has come and smacked us in the face here in the UK, but apparently it’s going to heat up again next week and just as I’d gotten all my jumpers and cardigans out of the wardrobe!

Let’s take a look at what’s new on the blog from yesterday. We’ve got Niz’s newest NXT review, Megabucks has a new edition of Tooned In, Jabroniville has posted a new Dream Matches post, LScisco has given us a new WTWWW for WWF Raw from April 25, 1994, and Sonic Reducer has uploaded the latest WWE Evovle review.

Official Attendance For WWE WrestleMania 41 Disclosed

The official attendance numbers have been revealed for WrestleMania 41, and both nights reached a combined total of a whopping 118,641 fans who were in attendance at Allegiant Stadium on April 19 and 20. Saturday’s WrestleMania had 58,538 fans, and Sunday’s show had 60,103. These figures are slightly different to what WWE announced live during the shows, as they said that Saturday’s show had 61,467 fans, and Sunday’s show had 63,226.

John Cena’s WWE Retirement Date Set

The date on which John Cena will have his final WWE match has been revealed, as Cena will lace up his boots, sorry, trainers, for the last time on December 13 (my birthday!) at Saturday Night’s Main Event. It was also announced that Peacock will have exclusive streaming rights for Saturday Night’s Main Event, starting with the November 1 edition.

Former WWE Star Makes AEW Debut

Former WWE star Isla Dawn made her surprise AEW debut at the AEW Collision tapings last night in her home city of Glasgow. Her debut will air on Saturday, and Dawn competed in a singles match against Megan Bayne and was unable to pick up the win on her debut. Dawn was released by WWE this year on February 8 after spending seven years with the company.

Former AEW Champion Returning As Part Of Forbidden Door Card Change

On last night’s episode of Dynamite, Killswitch, formerly Luchasaurus, returned and joined Kip Sabian to interrupt Adam Copeland and Christian Cage’s in-ring interview, delivering a chokeslam to both Copeland and Cage. Killswitch will replace an injured Nick Wayne to team with Sabian at Forbidden Door to take on Cage and Copeland.
