NXT Review – 07.29.25

By Niz on 30 July 2025

Recent WWE (and adjacent) shows: Smackdown | Raw | Unreal | TNA Impact

Then, Now, Forever…..TOGETHER

Tonight’s show comes from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, FL. Your announce team are the usual suspects – Vic Joseph, Corey Graves and Booker T on match calls, Mike Rome on ring introductions, and Sarah Schreiber on backstage interviews and news updates.

The show opens with a ten bell salute to Hulk Hogan. There’s a guy in the audience in a Wu-Tang shirt holding up a “Megapowers Forever” sign that I agree with. A career highlights video set to “Ordinary” by Alex Warren plays, and you know that these are always so well done. (I think this is the same one that played on Raw.)

After commercials, highlights are shown from last week‘s NXT that emanated from Houston.

Jaida Parker vs Jazmyn Nyx

Nyx is joined by Fallon Henley and NXT Women’s and TNA Knockouts Champion Jacy Jayne.

Parker bullies Nyx to a corner and pats her on the head before breaking cleanly. Parker decides to gripe at Jayne and Henley so Nyx calmly starts kicking her in the chest and back. Parker fires up with a forearm but her irish whip attempt goes south as Nyx catches her with an elbow and jumping kick to the chest. Nyx covers for two. Parker recovers and after a lock up she drops Nyx face-first on the mat. Parker hits a rolling neckbreaker and covers for two. Parker eats a boot from Nyx after an irish whip to the corner, but Parker catches the next attempt and slams Nyx to the canvas. Parker barks at Jayne and Henley again which gives Nyx a chance to hit her with a leg lariat. Nyx starts slamming Parker’s head to the mat and then slaps on a bridging side headlock.

Parker recovers and a struggle ends with her suplexing Nyx over her head. Nyx recovers and they start slugging it out. (So far this feels like “you do a move and then I’ll do a move and then you’ll do a move.”) Nyx hits a Pele kick and covers for two. Nyx starts chattering so Parker fires up with chops and then nails Nyx with a back elbow. Parker hoists Nyx for a fall-away slam. Parker mounts Nyx in the corner and then drops her…posterior…on Nyx from the second rope. Parker hits a prone Nyx with Hipnotic and covers for three.

I’m sure some of this was compressed to get the Hogan tribute in but this was a complete nothing-burger of a match. Like I said above, they traded moves and then Parker hit her with two posterior-based moves and won. Nyx needs a lot of reps as a singles and Parker didn’t have to do much here. 1.5*

Winner – Jaida Parker (Hipnotic)

Post-match sees Jayne and Henley badgering Nyx in the ring as Parker chirps at all of them from the aisle.

Here’s Je’von Evans backstage and he meets up with High Ryze. Evans asks why they let Trick Willams wear “that goofy-ass outfit” last week to confront the Undertaker and not having his back, but before they can respond, Evans claps and walks off to see Andre Chase speaking with Kale Dixon and Uriah Connors. Chase tells his students that NXT can be tough but they have to meet the adversity head on. Evans says the Undertaker told him something similar and he’s about to go chat about it. We go to commercials.

Evans comes to the ring with a good pop from the crowd and grabs a microphone. Evans says last week was crazy, he got to meet the legend and Hall of Famer the Undertaker, and his advice to Evans was to go after the “biggest dog in the yard”. Here’s TNA Men’s World Champion Trick Williams to interrupt and tell Evans “the biggest dog has finally arrived”. Trick has some advice for Evans and it’s don’t pull Superman’s cape and don’t try Trick Williams. Williams says he’s hotter than ever and Evans should mind his business while “grown folks are talking”. Evans tells Trick to slow down with his “big dog energy” because he got chokeslammed by the Undertaker. Williams says yes, that happened, but he’s still the TNA champion, he’s the biggest thing in NXT, and Evans should not try him again. Evans says that’s fine, he wasn’t actually talking about Trick, he was talking about the NXT champion Oba Femi.

Trick says Femi had “lust in his eyes” because he wishes he had Trick’s title so Trick wants to take Femi’s title and be like Jacy Jayne, taking over two brands. Here’s Wes Lee with High Ryze to interrupt. Lee says Evans should call out Femi, but Williams is on a “whole ‘nother level, dawg”. Lee calls himself the greatest North American champion ever and tells Evans his journey to the title is going to take a lot of time and is a long way away. Lee says the High Ryze will stop Evans dead in his tracks if he tries coming after Trick’s title. Evans says he’s starting tonight but he’s starting with Lee, and he pops Lee in the mouth. The numbers game immediately overwhelms Evans as everyone puts the boots to him. Dupont and Igwe hold Evans so Lee can hit his goofy springboard 360 cardiac kick on Evans. Lee says he’ll speak to Ava and get the match made for tonight as he, Trick and the High Ryze stand over the fallen Evans. We go to commercials.

This was fine but there wasn’t as much heat as I think they were hoping for. High Ryze as Trick’s heaters in NXT is fine but I’m not sure it’s helping anyone.

Back live as we see Kale Dixon and Uriah Connors, chairs in hand, discussing attacking the tag team champions to assure themselves a title match soon. Connors didn’t actually check that Hank and Tank were in the locker room before getting the chairs, so he cracks the door to the locker room and of course the champs are there. Connors and Dixon charge in but Hank and Tank are ready for them (Hank does a wildly funny martial arts pose here that has to be seen to be believed.) The champs wonder why they were going to hit them with chairs because if they want a match, they just have to ask. Tank explains they’ve learned a lot from Andre Chase and respect him so of course they’d give Dixon and Connors a match. Chase wanders in and Dixon explains their plan to use the chairs as Chase is horrified. He apologizes to Hank and Tank, and Hank says he’ll talk to Ava and get the match made.

This was a well-done segment – Dixon and Connors have some comedy chops and Hank’s pose was riotously funny. It’s nice to have some levity in wrestling and embrace the stupidity of it all occasionally.

Tavion Heights vs Charlie Dempsey

Wren Sinclair accompanies both to ringside. They last met on July 8, and that was the match where Sinclair threw in the towel to end Heights’ attempt to leave the group. Last week saw Bubba Ray Dudley get involved to make this match where Heights has another shot at being on his own but if he loses, he has to be in the Catch Crew with a smile on his face.

They exchange wristlocks and armdrags to start, and then Heights trips Dempsey to the mat before grabbing a waistlock. Dempsey slips out and puts Heights on the mat with a fireman’s carry. Heights slips out of Dempsey’s arms and we reset. (Joe Hendry’s spinning graphic appears here for some reason. DID SOMEONE SAY HIS NAME? DON’T SAY HIS NAME YET. I THOUGHT WE TALKED ABOUT THIS.) Dempsey pops a right on Heights as they’re along the ropes. Heights rolls through a headlock attempt and grabs one of his own. Dempsey slips out but Heights nails him with a shoulder tackle and then dumps Dempsey to the mat. There’s more chain wrestling before Heights grabs a leg and covers for two. Heights trucks Dempsey with another shoulder tackle and then dumps him to grab a side headlock. Dempsey slips out of that, and as they run the ropes both decide on flying cross-body tackles. We go to commercials.

Back live with Heights nailing Dempsey with a back suplex to break out of an armlock. Heights SWEEPS THE LEG and then hits a swank dropkick on Dempsey. Heights hits a Sling Blade on Dempsey who bails to the floor. Heights follows and he slips Dempsey’s attempt to clip him before kicking Dempsey in the chest. Dempsey pushes Heights off the ring steps, and when Heights charges back Dempsey slips it and runs Heights knee into the steps. Back in the ring, Dempsey snaps off a Dragon Screw leg whip before putting Heights in a half-crab. Heights tries to make the ropes so Dempsey pulls him back to the center and stomps on his hamstring before going back to the half-crab. Sinclair appears to be looking for towel but can’t find one.

Heights rolls through and boots Dempsey in the face and when Dempsey charges back, Heights rolls him up for two. Heights hits a running clothesline and then double-legs Dempsey to the mat. Heights hoists Dempsey and hits a Death Valley Driver but doesn’t cover. Dempsey predictably recovers quickly and boots Heights in his previously-injured knee. They lock up and Heights powers Dempsey into a belly-to-belly suplex and that gets three.

This one didn’t have the same heat as the last one did, but this one had a much better finish than that lame “throw in the towel” thing they came up with for the last one. If this was the endgame, it probably did not need two matches to get there. I’m happy for Heights and he looked good. Dempsey feels like he’s treading water all of a sudden. 2.5*

Winner – Tavion Heights (Belly to Belly suplex)

Post-match sees a show of respect handshake as the announcers speculate about what’s next for NQCC. Time for some new members maybe?

Backstage with Trick Williams and High Ryze, and Trick wants assurances that Je’von Evans will be dealt with tonight. Lee says that’s happening, but how about Trick working on getting Igwe and Dupont a shot at the TNA tag championships. Trick says he can do that and here’s TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella to question if Trick thinks he has stroke in TNA. Marella IS the stroke in TNA, but tonight he’s a WWE superstar defending the people of North America against “bunghole boy” Ethan Pa-gay. Marella tells Trick to not get too comfortable with his title because it’s coming home to TNA. (It will actually be somewhat fascinating to see who gets to show Trick losing his belt eventually – whether it’s NXT or TNA and if it’s at a PLE or just on a loaded up television episode. I guess maybe Jacy Jayne’s thing is in the same boat here so maybe TNA gets one and NXT gets one? It will be interesting to watch regardless.)

Blake Monroe is making her way out for a chat as we go to commercials.

Back live, Monroe makes her entrance and grabs a mic. Booker had mis-identified her last week so she lets him know her name as Booker tells Joseph she loves him. Booker writes her name down to remember it. Monroe says everyone keeps asking her “Why Jordynne Grace?” and she says it’s simple, Grace isn’t good enough and she’s seen protein shakes with more personality than “J. G.”. Monroe says Grace is a background player, or extra as a couple of pictures of a much younger and heavier Grace are shown on the Tron. Monroe knows Grace has transformed herself but when she looks in the mirror Grace doesn’t see the Juggernaut, she sees those photos. The photos aren’t championship material, they are gym membership material. (ACTIVATE THE BURN UNIT STAT) Monroe says she is what is known as “star power”. Monroe intends to be the women the brand revolves around and here’s Lola Vice to interrupt.

Vice doesn’t understand how Monroe can be so beautiful but so ugly on the inside. Vice says they do have the DEEPEST WOMEN’S DIVISION but Monroe will not be champion. Vice says star power is flying in to represent WWE in AAA and not taking selfies backstage. Here’s Jaida Parker to interrupt.

Parker says she doesn’t need viral moments or Evolution dance-offs or betrayals, she just makes her own moments. Jordynne Grace’s music hits but instead it’s Kelani Jordan to interrupt and say that she’s not the Jordan they were looking for, apparently. Jordan says Evolution was amazing but she’s here to talk about the future. Jordan says Monroe thinks she’s the hottest thing in SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT (We can call it professional wrestling now, Kelani, it’s okay. The old rotbrain rapist who had an entire dictionary of banned terms is no longer running things.) but on Monroe’s best day, she can’t “do it like ‘Lani”. Monroe says it’s cute that Kelani finally got a personality and a Pier Six erupts with Vice and Parker going at it while Jordan and Monroe tussle. Vice and Jordan end up standing tall as Parker and Monroe end up on the floor. Monroe grabs at Parker like they’re friends, so Parker pushes Monroe down and glares at her.

Here’s Tatum Paxley and Izzi Dame backstage. Paxley is delighted to have pinned Zaria in the mixed tag last week and wants to challenge Sol Ruca. Dame says it was a big win but Paxley didn’t pin the champ like she did. Shawn Spears and Niko Vance wander in and Spears congratulates Paxley on getting them the win. Spears went to Ava and got Paxley a title shot against Sol Ruca for next week’s show. Dame says Ruca had help at the Bash when they met, so all of the Culling will be in Paxley’s corner next week to make sure she brings gold to the group. Paxley is overjoyed and says she loves her new family. As they leave, Luca Crusifino comes into frame and sadly says “No family lasts forever.”

Poor Luca, I wonder what’s next for him and Stacks. This was a good scene overall because you could sort of see Dame maybe not reacting super positively to Paxley’s ambition and maybe not all that well to Spears getting Paxley the title shot. Little drops of things here and there, it feels like this is Shawn’s next “family” project.

Here’s Lash Legend cutting a promo on Fatal Influence as she makes her way to the ring. Legend says she’s the most dominant woman in WWE and runs down the list of people she tossed in the Evolution battle royal. Once she’s done with Fallon Henley, there’s a clear path to the NXT Women’s championship. We go to commercials.

Did you know there’s a Hulk Hogan Legacy collection on the WWE Shop? WELL YA DO NOW, BROTHER.

Here’s NXT Men’s North American Champion Ethan Page warming up prior to the main event title defense against Santino.

Lash Legend vs Fallon Henley

Legend chirps at the Fatal crew prior to the bell. They lock up and Henley belts Legend in the back. Legend is not best pleased so she runs Henley to the ropes and starts whaling away at her as Henley is draped over the second rope. Legend hoists Henley, but Henley slips off and stomps on Legend’s foot. Legend shrugs that off and yanks Henley up into a standing press before dropping her face-first to the mat. Legend hits a running splash and covers for two. (The Joe Hendry graphic appears again here so we’re clearly doing something with him tonight – I wonder if he’s showing up for Santino’s main event. Hendry and Page could be decent together.)

Legend stands on top of a prone Henley and drops her….posterior…onto Henley’s back. Henley slips off of Legend’s back after being hoisted but she cannot roll Legend up (Lash loves her pinwheeling arms in a roll-up spot, gotta get it in in every match!) Henley slips a pump kick attempt but after running the ropes Legend catches Henley’s cross-body attempt and then runs Henley’s head back and forth between the second and third ropes. Legend hits a spinning knee-to-backbreaker move on Henley but she doesn’t cover. Henley slips a Legend charge and hits a sort-of springboard Blockbuster on Legend. Henley puts the boots to Legend as Jayne and Nyx bark what I’m sure are very nice things at Legend. Henley drops Legend with a sling blade and covers for two.

Henley locks in a sleeper so Legend rises and slams Henley back-first into the corner to break it. Henley hits a rope-assisted bulldog on Legend. Legend recovers but Henley wants a Fameasser. Henley pounds at Legend’s head after being hoisted after the Fameasser attempt, before hitting Legend with a half-assed rana. Legend has had enough and pounds Henley with a couple of forearms before hoisting Henley for a fall-away slam. Legend nips up to a pop. (People LOVE a good nip up, trust me on this.) Henley elbows a charging Legend, but Legend shrugs that off and blasts Henley with a forearm sending her to the floor. Henley pulls Nyx in front of her as Legend approaches, so Legend calmly blasts Nyx with a huge forearm. Nyx rolls into the ring for some reason, and so does Henley. Jayne charges to try a belt shot, but Legend ducks it and pump-kicks Jayne in the face.

Nia Jax comes out of nowhere and blasts Legend in the back. Jax tosses Legend into the ring (At this point the CW CENSORS kick in again because the crowd is probably chanting holy shit at Jax’s arrival. Grow up, CW, it’s wrestling not Sunday morning mass or something. Sheesh.) Henley hits a dazed Legend with the Fameasser and gets the three count.

Lash is clearly meant for the main roster soon-ish, I’d guess. They don’t bring in folks like Nia for no reason. The match was pretty much what you’d expect with a physically dominant face working with essentially a chicken-shit heel. Henley’s offense isn’t really improving much and she seems to just be a piece once again after her NA title run. Legend has the chops to be on the main, I hope she gets there soon. 2.5*

Winner – Fallon Henley (Fameasser after Nia Jax interference)

Post-match sees Jax doing further damage to Legend before nailing her with an Annihilator. Jax says “That’s for running your mouth, bitch” which the CW CENSORS fail to catch. Take that, idiots. We go to commercials.

Backstage with Josh Briggs and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo beefing over something before Yoshiki Inamura charges in to push Briggs in the chest. Briggs is dragged off as Stacks tells Inamura that families don’t last and there’s no honor or loyalty in the business. Inamura slaps Stacks and tells him that he’ll show him honor….NEXT WEEK. Ariana Grace was watching all this unfold and she checks to see if Stacks is okay.

Je’von Evans vs Wes Lee

Trick Williams has joined the commentary team. Lee is seconded by Tyson Dupont and Tyriek Igwe, as usual. As Trick is slating Evans on commentary, Evans hits a tope suicida on Lee before the bell sounds. Lee and Evans brawl in the entrance way and Evans finally gains the advantage. The ref pulls Evans off a prone Lee in the corner, and Lee says he’s okay so the bell sounds.

Lee dumps Evans onto the apron so Evans casually pops Lee in the mouth. Evans hits a huge springboard cross-body and covers Lee for two. Lee recovers and drops Evans to the mat before crushing Evans with a standing shotgun dropkick. Lee stomps Evans in the head but Evans slips away from Lee’s 180 splash attempt. Evans lays in some chops but Lee catches him with a right. Lee comes off the ropes but Evans wallops him with a huge chop sending Lee to the mat. Evans hits another chop and then runs Lee to the opposite corner to chop him there. Lee recovers and starts punching Evans in the back before kicking him in the ribs. (Trick is apparently polishing his boots as Joseph has a conniption over it.) There are irish whip reversals and it leads to a charging Lee eating a huge boot from Evans. Evans wants to ascend but stupidly stops to bitch at Igwe. Lee recovers and knocks Evans off the second rope all the way to the floor. Lee hits a massive tope con hilo that barely grazes Evans before landing on his feet. We go to commercials.

Joseph says it was all Lee during the break as Lee has Evans in a front headlock. During the break Lee hit a twisting senton that got a long two count as highlights show. Lee goes back to the front headlock. Evans tries to lift Lee up to break it, so Lee rolls through and gets a two count. Lee starts throwing bombs before staggering Evans with a back elbow. Lee comes off the ropes to a gigantic and LOUD slap to the chest from Evans. Evans blasts Lee with an enziguri then does his goofy bottom rope springboard into a nasty looking release German. Lee wakes up and slips a chop from Evans, but as he charges Evans crushes Lee with a right before nailing him with a Superman punch. Evans flies off the ropes with a jumping knee strike and covers Lee for a long two.

Evans whips Lee into the corner and charges, but Lee meets him with a big boot and a loud enziguri. Lee plants Evans with a tilt-a-whirl DDT before dropping Evans with a brainbuster. Lee covers for two. Lee ascends but a recovered Evans drops him in the Tree of Woe. Evans goes to the opposite corner and ascends before going coast to coast with a rolling Pele kick (I guess it was a Pele kick, regardless it looked both cool and VERY dangerous.) Evans hits a frog splash for another long two count as I see Hunter might be booking this match. (For the record, the crowd is enjoying the HELL out of this, and most are on their feet.)

Dupont jumps on the apron to bark at Evans, before Igwe grabs Evans leg. Evans fights them off as Lee misses a charge and ends up on the floor. Evans predictably hits Dupont and Igwe with a huge tope con hilo, but as he slides back in Lee rolls him up for two. Lee comes off the ropes with a Pele kick and covers Evans for two as Evans got his foot on the second rope. Joseph correctly points out that Lee covered Evans too close to the ropes and leaned too far into the cover and actually putting Evans foot on the rope. As Lee is griping with the ref, Evans sneaks in and rolls Lee up for two. Evans snaps off a cutter and then springboards off the second rope to the third before flying in with a second cutter and that gets three.

Je’von Evans has unmatched athletic ability. He does a LOT of cool looking modern spots and he lives up to his BOUNCY promises often. The PC crowd just adores him and he’s getting there. Matches like this really help make him seem like a promising prospect who’s just going to have to put in the time. You’ll know they like him for real if he gets a heel turn at some point like they’ve done with so many other prospects. Wes Lee is now a mid-card jobber and I think that may be his ceiling, but he can always go to TNA and work with them due to his history there and so it’s a fine slot for him to be in for now. This was your match of the night, because I cannot see Santino and Ethan Page doing better than this. 4*

Winner – Je’von Evans (Flying cutter)

Post-match sees Evans griping at Trick who’s still ringside, but lo and behold here’s NXT Men’s Champion Oba Femi in the NXT Roost to bark at both Evans and Trick. We go to commercials.

THE NXT FOCUS PRESENTED BY PROGRESSIVE sees a previously recorded sit-down interview between Vic Joseph and Myles Borne. Joseph asks Borne if the things Lexis King has said and done have hurt Borne. Borne says King is just trying to stir the pot. Borne mentions he was born with persistent pulmonary hypertension and that’s what caused his almost-total deafness. He flat-lined twice on an emergency airlift to a hospital in North Carolina and the doctors only gave him a 15% chance to live. They put him on a machine to keep him alive and when they took him off of it to test, Borne’s heart started working on it’s own for the very first time. As it turned out, the ventilator’s radiation took away 90% of Borne’s hearing. He taught himself at a young age to read lips, because communication was tough for him. Joseph starts to ask him a question and Borne jokingly says “What did you say?” as Joseph breathes a sigh of relief. Borne chooses to have humor about things and will not listen or deal with people like King. Joseph thanks Borne for taking the time and says he’s looking forward to calling his next match.

Jeez Louise that’s a harrowing story. I cannot imagine what that kid’s parents must have went through with him. You don’t have to like Borne but you better respect what the kid went through just to be in this spot. What a story.

Here’s NXT GM Ava with Evolve GM Stevie Turner and Robert Stone. Stone updates Ava on Ricky Saints condition and he should be back soon. Turner says that Jordynne Grace might be in a neck brace for a bit but she avoided a serious injury (this was from last week’s huge dust-up after the Blake Monroe-Wren Sinclair match). In walks Lexis King to question if “they can believe all this crap” about Myles Borne’s interview with Vic Joseph. King calls Borne a BIG FAT PHONY and says “you rubes are falling for it”. Ava says King will be wrestling Borne next week and King says he’ll prove Borne is just as much of a fraud inside the ring as he is out of it.

Santino Marella makes his entrance as Joseph says this will be the first time he’s wrestled in a WWE ring since 2014. We go to commercials.

DURING THE BREAK Fatal Influence are griping at Jasmyn Nyx for losing before Nia Jax takes the camera person to tell Lash Legend that she got dropped twice and simply doesn’t measure up.

NXT Men’s North American Championship: Ethan Page (C) vs Santino Marella

Marella immediately rolls up Page into a crucifix for one. Marella grabs an inside cradle for two. Marella goes behind and rolls Page up again for two. Page resets in the corner as Marella glares at him. (The crowd is doing a sing-song “Ethan Pa-gay – Bunghole Boy!” chant as I die from laughter.) Page goes to work with a right as the Joe Hendry graphic appears again. Page punches Marella in the head but after he whips Marella into the opposite corner Marella slips Page’s charge and hits two Steamboat armdrags. Marella covers for two. Marella tries another cover and that gets two. Page bails to the floor.

As Marella approaches, Page drapes him throat-first over the top rope. Page hits Marella with a snap elbow drop and puts the boots to him. (Crowd: “E-G-O, A-S-S” – This crowd tonight…man oh man.) Page irish whips Marella who comes off and hits a sunset flip on Page for two. As Marella rises Page wastes him with a big boot before beginning the CLUBBERING. Page yanks up Marella for a neckbreaker and that gets a two count. (Crowd: “Pa-gay SUCKS!” – does Page have actual go-away heat?!) Page slaps on a rear headlock but Marella starts to elbow and punch his way out of it. Page misses a charge and gets hoisted onto Marella’s shoulders for an AIRPLANE SPIN (I LOVE OLD SCHOOL MOVES GETTING BUSTED OUT IN NXT MY DUDES AND DUDE-ETTES). Unfortunately this makes Marella dizzy so both guys are down.

Marella misses a splash attempt and Page wants Twisted Grin. Marella reverses out of it and drops Page with a Stunner (It did NOT include the kick-wham part so Graves calls it Stunner-ish). Marella hits Page with a diving headbutt and covers for two. Page recovers to hit an enziguri on Marella but his cover only gets two. Page drags Marella to the center before ascending. Page meets Marella’s knees as he jumps down. Marella fires up and beals Page to the mat. Page bails so Marella comes over the top rope and splashes Page on the floor. Marella pulls out the Cobra as the crowd loses it’s mind. For some reason the ref stops Marella from using it so Page pops him in the eye with a right as he’s distracted. Page hits Twisted Grin and that gets three.

I mean, this was what you would expect from this. Page was never losing this title to Santino goddamn Marella at this point, but Santino acquitted himself very well here. He looked good in defeat and Page gave him a lot of offense. I was fine with it but if you didn’t see it you didn’t miss anything. 2*

Winner AND STILL NXT Men’s North American Champion – Ethan Page (Twisted Grin)

The credits roll as Page hoists his belt to the crowd.

Here’s Tony D’Angelo at an empty table. A waiter brings him a glass of wine and says “Here you go, Don.” D’Angelo tells him he doesn’t have to call him “Don” anymore, he’s just Tony D. now. D’Angelo gets ready to eat and a shadow looms over him. The screen fades.

That was quite a cliffhanger. The rest of the show was much better than last week’s yap-fest but that isn’t saying much. The matches were okay and if you like modern bouncy wrestling, then you should seek out the Evans-Lee deal. Otherwise, the angle with Nia Jax and Lash Legend felt like the start of something and clearly something is coming with Joe Hendry – it’s been reported his contract is up in October so they must be laying the groundwork for his obvious arrival. I’m going to go thumbs mostly up this week. Next week’s card is getting loaded up and that looks to be a big show for the build to Heatwave which is at the end of August.

As always, thank you for reading, commenting, sharing, and caring. You are all wonderful beautiful people. It’s also 5:45 AM and I’m bleary. Have a great day, and stay cool out there.
