Worst gimmick names that got over
By Scott Keith on 27 March 2025
Greetings,
What do you and folks think are some of the weakest, dumbest, or least inventive wrestler gimmick names that actually got over? Not just a bad name, but a bad name that worked somehow.
I submit “Mr. Perfect” as a ridiculous name that, through sheer talent, booking, and maybe the time, became synonymous with the person. “Ultimate Warrior” and “Honky Tonk Man” also come to mind.
For the purpose of discussion, let's exclude monikers that accompanied an actual name, e.g., “The Million Dollar Man” Ted Dibiase (a legit great moniker, but without his name included it would have been way more silly).
Thanks as always
Dolph Ziggler. I thought he was legit dead in the water as soon as they gave him that one.
