I am going to upset some people here but that's never stopped me before. Comparing all their accomplishments I believe the Miz is a bigger star than Punk ever was or will ever be. I am not talking about who is the better pro wrestler, I am talking about career wise, including legacy and mainstream credibility. Miz has basically outshined Punk in everything they have completed in. Let me explained:
-Both had super tough roads to success. While Punk's may have been a little dirtier Miz had to also had a tough route considering how bad he was treated when he first joined WWE. Neither was liked backstage but I would argue Miz had worse heat than Punk, being that he was a reality star no one thought should be there. Punk's issues once he got to WWE was more attitude, which some of that was his own fault. I think Miz wins here for the harder climb to the belt.
-Obviously when it comes to WWE accolades Miz beats Punk, even without including what he has won after Punk left. I believe he was a grandslam champion during Punks time frame in wwe, while also achieving the biggest thing Punk wanted the most, which was main eventing Mania. And Miz did it against the biggest star of the last 2 decades, who he beat in John Cena. I was in Atlanta and he had major heat, tons more than Nexus Punk who was like in the 3rd match that will mostly be remembered for him selling the hell out of an RKO. Punks epic title reign was obviously better but he got a better booking, as Miz was stuck feuding with Lawler for some reason I still don't understand. I am pretty sure Miz would of preferred fighting ADR if he had the choice.
-Punk has the pipe bomb but Miz has the talking smack promo. Maybe not as epic but still holds up, plus I think overall Miz is better on the mic. This one could go either way.
-Neither was gangbusters for ratings but both did well with their championship reigns and whenever they are on TV. Miz clearly outdraws him now, but I think that is more AEW's fault than Punk. But people to love to watch Miz get his ass kicked, as the Raw where he kept trying to get out of fighting Lashley was one of the rating episodes in awhile, including a strong 3rd hour rating, is a great example.
-They both fell in love in WWE but I again give this one to the Miz, as Mayrse in her prime was a 12. Even after two kids she is still a 10.
-Where Miz really crushes him is outside of wrestling. Miz never tried MMA but not sure it could of gone any worse than Punk's career. They both have done acting, which while neither will be confused with the Rock, Miz has alot more success there than Punk. And that's saying alot since most of Miz movies have gone straight to DVD. Punk has tried for multiple years without securing many roles, which is prob why he was happy to come back to wrestling. After watching him on Heels I think he made a good choice. And before anyone says being a celebrity is not important to him dude went on the challenge after he left WWE, so clearly he cared about getting his name out there. And he did terrible, getting eliminated quickly. Even Lio Rush did better on the challenge, before he quit of course. Meanwhile Miz won it twice. Also Miz has a fairly popular reality show, hosted multiple shows like Wipeout, and is pretty well know name at this point. Outside of wrestling I wouldn't say Punk is a hot commodity. I mean Punk wanted its so bad he was on WWE Backstage, that had to be a low for him.
So if anyone is Miz-lite I would say it's Punk.
Well I’m con-Vince-d!
