Enzo Amore reportedly signs with WWE

Enzo Amore has reportedly signed a new WWE contract, with PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reporting that people backstage believe the former WWE star reached an agreement within the past week. Amore is expected to join NXT, although WWE has yet to officially confirm his return. Dave Meltzer previously reported that a deal was virtually complete, with WWE reportedly planning to keep Amore and Big Cass apart to avoid limiting Cass’s potential as a singles competitor.

WrestleVotes also reported that WWE creative believed fans were anticipating Amore’s return, complicating plans for Cass. Amore was released in January 2018 following sexual assault allegations, which he denied. Police later closed the investigation due to insufficient evidence. Since his departure, he has competed for promotions including TNA and MLW under the names nZo and Real1.

John Cena Names First Participant In Eponymous WWE Tournament

John Cena appeared on the November 5 episode of WWE NXT to announce Zilla Fatu as the latest participant in the John Cena Classic, scheduled for December 14, 2026. Cena praised the WWE Performance Center for developing future stars before personally inviting Fatu, who expressed his gratitude. Cena also reflected on his history with Fatu’s family, including Rikishi, The Rock and The Bloodline, and spoke fondly of Fatu’s late father, Umaga.

Backstage, Kam Hendrix confronted Cena about not receiving an invitation, but Cena advised him to focus on his upcoming match against EK Prossper rather than boasting about his abilities. Fatu joins Cody Rhodes as a confirmed participant, and Cena is expected to announce further entrants during upcoming appearances on Raw, SmackDown, and Survivor Series.

WWE In Discussions For Major Tokyo Event In 2027

WWE could return to Japan in 2027, with TKO President Mark Shapiro saying WWE President Nick Khan is discussing bringing the company to Tokyo. Speaking during TKO’s third-quarter 2026 financial earnings call, Shapiro expressed optimism about the potential event as he discussed WWE and UFC’s international expansion plans. However, no date, venue, or event format has been confirmed, and the discussions have not yet resulted in an official announcement.

The potential return follows WWE’s growing presence in Japan, where its programming began streaming on Netflix in October 2026. WWE also held its most recent events in the country that same month.
