Owen Hart 1994

Just read Bryan's Superstars rant from 94 which included a really good short Owen vs Jannetty bout. Man did Owen have an incredible run in 1994 from a quality standpoint? Not to mention the awesome storyline with Bret and his great heel character. All his PPV matches in 1994 (except Survivor Series) were good-to-phenomenal. Maybe his best year/phase overall? I think they dropped the ball with him afterwards, keeping him in the midcard forever
94 was a hell of a run for him, but the problem is that he just didn't have the promo skills and charisma to be a tippy top guy outside of the Bret feud. And I'm like, his #1 fan, and even I wouldn't buy him at that kind of level at that point. I do think that if he had lived, he would have gotten some version of the World title in the Wild Russo West where everyone gets a run, but tag team specialist and occasional IC champion was realistically Owen's ceiling.
