Legal Liability for WCW

By Scott Keith on 23 January 2017

Hey Scott,

Legal question about liability for wrestlers who wrestled under WCW. There are all these lawsuits now against WWE and Vince from injured former wrestlers. If former WCW wrestlers wanted to sue, would they have to sue Vince or could they sue Turner/Time Warner? In other words, when Vince bought WCW, did he also acquire the legal liability for whatever happened there? Or does that liability stay with Turner, who owned WCW at the time?

Thanks

Vince specifically did NOT buy WCW as a company, he bought the assets and limited contracts. As I understand the deal, all debt and liability is with TBS.
