Stephanie without Triple H

Hi Scott,

We’ve often discussed what would have happened with Triple H if he had never married Stephanie, but do you think marrying Triple H had just as much of an impact on Stephanie’s future in the WWE? Do you think if she had married somebody completely unrelated to the business, it would have made her less devoted to the company? I know Shane’s wife appeared on WWE television for a short while, but it appears that she’s pretty separated from the WWE. Perhaps having that separate life was why Shane was able to voluntarily step away from the company, whereas Stephanie’s entire life — her job, her family, her husband — revolved around WWE.

​No, because she was being groomed for the business side even in 2000​, when she replaced Chris Kreski as head of creative in the move that pretty much ended the biggest boom period in wrestling history with a thud. She would have still been deeply entrenched in there, whereas Shane never seemed to have the same kind of creative input into the product she did and was more content to take stupid bumps as an occasional on-screen character. Maybe she would have even ended up marrying Randy Orton instead. That HHH-Orton feud sure would have played out differently in THAT case.
