Royal Rumble vs. WWE Universe

The last few Royal Rumbles have seemingly become an annual pissing contest between WWE and its fanbase, with company golden boys such as Batista and Roman Reigns going over and an angry response from the diehard fans in the crowd.

Do you think part of the motivation for putting the ’17 Rumble in the Alamodome is to drown out the pissed off fans with a larger, more casual audience who won’t revolt when Reigns or Cena inevitably wins the Rumble match again? Or are they really just honoring the anniversary of a terrible show that no one remembers?

​If they were trying to drown out a crowd then that would be giving them WAY too much credit for self-awareness. I still half-expect Roman Reigns to win the stupid thing again, frankly. ​
