Kevin von Erich legacy

By Scott Keith on 24 September 2016

Hey Scott,

Considering he was just as good looking as his brothers, had just as good conditioning, and WAY less insane, why was Kevin von Erich never a star outside Texas? He, apparently, wrestled a match in WWWF but never even stepped foot in the NWA, where you’d figure he’d be a natural fit.

Was he never given the chance? If so, why? Was he just not that good? Did he not have the Von Erich charisma? Were promoters worried about the Von Erich curse?

Thoughts?

He definitely did not have the charisma of Kerry or David, but my understanding has always been that he just didn’t want to travel or tour. He was happy hanging around Dallas outside of the occasional Japan tour, so that’s where he stayed. It’s not like he was hurting for money or anything.
