AJ Styles and the brass ring

Hey Scott,

Vince and HHH have constantly alluded to "grabbing the brass ring" and getting yourself over, even though lots of people think that getting over doesn’t matter unless WWE wants you to succeed. Is AJ a real case of someone grabbing the "brass ring"? He came in and got himself over by putting on the best match night after night. The crowd got behind him and WWE actually ran with it. He pretty much broke through the glass ceiling that seems to exist for guys like him in WWE.

​I’d say that’s a fair assessment, yes. Vince really did have earmarked for the midcard after the first few months, and then (quite surprisingly, actually) the momentum he gained from splitting with the Club got him into World title position. Can you imagine a world with Bullet Club East and West as World champions of the respective brands, though? Could have happened if Finn Balor hadn’t been injured, since he was likely to retain the belt for a few months. ​
