House show wins and losses

Is the rule always "faces win at house shows". I’m reading results that bray Wyatt is losing to Kane all over a and doesn’t that hurt the PPV audience. I know it’s a different time with the network but before it when they’re trying to sell a PPV, would faces still go over. Back in the 80s you’d never see hillbilly Jim beat King Kong bundy clean right?

​Yeah, but house shows now are such a meaningless part of the business that it doesn’t really matter what the results are, because these guys aren’t worried about protecting their spot or drawing money or whatever anyway. It’s just something to add a bit of a boost to the bottom line and entertain people for two hours. It’d be like complaining that Ice Age on Ice is hurting the movie receipts because the story is different there. Times have changed.​
