Exactly when did Crockett realize he was broke?

Is it possible that the World Class acquisition is what made Crockett realize he was broke? Or was it another purchase?

It is certainly possible, but there was word of Crockett having trouble making his balloon payments to talent as early as January. The UWF purchase really killed him, and then the relative failure of Starrcade, when they had been previously used to millions at the end of the year, was basically the beginning of the end.
