Owen/Bulldog 1997

Hey, Scott, I’ve been going through 1997 WWF and I was wondering what
the endgame was supposed to be between Owen and Bulldog? I’ve always
heard that they were supposed to feud and Bret had it changed so he
could form the Hart Foundation. Do you know? Thanks.

​Yeah, it was supposed to be a Bulldog babyface turn and Bret was basically the impetus behind cancelling it and going with the much better Hart Foundation stuff instead. The European title was created to make Bulldog a big star in the UK, but then they promptly got bored with the idea and dropped it.​
