Hey remember when Savage slept with Stephanie?

Whenever happened to the whole "Savage/Stephanie" affair rumor? It seemed to come out of nothing more than an off-hand comment and spiraled into this insane phenomenon and then dropping out into obscurity when no one could confirm or deny it’s legitimacy. Did anyone get to the bottom of this?
