Did Anyone Try to Put a Hit on Vince?

I’m really loving the Observer Flashbacks, 84-85 is really fascinating. On that topic, with Vince encroaching on everyone’s territory and stealing talent etc., did any of the other promoters ever try to put out some kind of mafia-style hit on Vince, or even an attempt to rough him up and send him a message? And if not, why not?

​No, for two reasons:

1) They were all a bunch of tough-talking wusses who backed down the second that Vince encroached on them in the slightest.

2) They were too cheap to hire a hitman.

They TALKED a lot of shit about Vince and how they’d like to rough him up and such, but nothing was ever going to happen.​
