One day Kane

Just saw a comment on one of your posts about Kane having that one day WWF title reign in 1998. What was that about? Why only a day? What was the point?

Were there plans for a Kane run or did they go cold on him as soon as he won it??

​The idea was that they wanted to have Steve Austin regain the title on RAW and pop a rating so big that Vince would get a boner huge enough to poke himself in the eye as a ​result. And we can safely say "done and DONE!" So Kane won it in a match that everyone knew was bullshit, and thus it didn’t hurt Austin, and then he won it back and basically gave Kane the rub just for getting the title that one night, and everyone laughed all the way to the bank.
