Scaffold Match at GAB91

By Scott Keith on 29 November 2015

Hey Scott, hope all is well!

I was watching Great American Bash and had a question about the scaffold match. Beyond all the normal things that are wrong with this match, what possessed them to put PN News in a match that required someone to fall a long distance? Did he have ridiculous heat with the bookers? Everybody else in the match seems decently athletic and could feasibly take that bump. Why put the big fat guy in the match?

Thanks,

The match came from a continuation of the Steve Austin-Bobby Eaton feud, and the card actually switched around a whole bunch of times leading up to it. It KIND of made sense to have News involved, in that he was challenging Austin for the TV title on a Clash following that match, but the big problem was that they changed the stipulations to add capture-the-flag rules, which did News no favors. Under the original rules it would have been not GREAT, but at probably at least passable.
