Rowdy Roddy Piper v. Pat Tanaka

Piper working TV again to build up the Flair feud, which led to an even bigger run for him in 1992. Piper hits Tanaka with a clothesline out of the corner and yells about Jack Tunney, and then finishes with a bulldog at 0:35. Then he grabs a chair and threatens to beat on the fallen Tanaka, but changes his mind and promises to save it for Ric Flair instead.

Last week! Sid Justice was to face El Diablo, but in a twist clearly stolen from this week’s Dynamite, he unmasked to reveal Jake Roberts in a pretty clever subterfuge. Also what right did Jim Duggan have to try and destroy Undertaker’s casket on the way to the ring? That wasn’t his property!

IRS v. Chris Hawn

Apparently Mike Rotunda going into hospice care was Barry Windham mis-speaking, but he still had a massive heart attack and is currently in rehab for it. Also, on the Observer Radio where Dave and Bryan talked about it the other day, Dave literally rattled off a 15 minute history of Rotunda’s career off the top of his head and it was amazing stuff. That’s the stuff that people love, not his hot takes on Twitter. Irwin finishes with the Write Off at 1:20 while Savage rages about Jake the Snake and they talk about the upcoming Survivor Series match.

El Matador v. Bob Bradley

Yes, the weeks of vignettes and training have led to Tito getting repackaged with a pair of green tights and in the same position as before. Tito taunts Bob with the cape and runs him into the corner, and then comes off the middle rope with a clothesline and finishes with EL PASO DES MORTE at 1:29. Sadly he never got a chance to feud with Mantaur.

Meanwhile, Sgt. Slaughter reminisces about Paul Revere, who was still alive the last time he was relevant as a top draw. Also he still wants his country back, and he’s starting to sound very threatening about it. I WANT MY COUNTRY BACK. OR ELSE!

Ted Dibase v. Sonny Blaze

Dibiase beats on Blaze on the floor while we get an inset from Virgil, who notes that Dibiase has a lot of money in the bank that accumulates interest, but he has an interest in keeping the Million Dollar Belt. Well, he tried, I guess. Dibiase with a snap suplex in the ring and he follows with a powerslam. The Million Dollar Dream finishes at 1:45. Kind of a shame that Dibiase spent months trying to get the belt back from Virgil, and then once he won it, he almost immediately abandoned it for good after winning the tag team titles!

Ricky Steamboat v. Barry Hardy

Last appearance for Ricky Steamboat on this show, as he made a shock appearance on Clash of the Champions three weeks after this. Steamer works the arm while Savage talks baseball, and Steamboat skins the cat and hits Hardy with a bodypress for two. To the top with the flying bodypress to finish at 1:39 and it’s off to WCW for him.

The Natural Disasters join Gene for a special interview, as Savage declares them GUILTY BY ASSOCIATION for teaming up with Jake at Survivor Series. Many people are saying they’ll be the next tag team champions! Actually literally no one would guess the team who were the next tag team champions.

SURVIVOR SERIES REPORT! WITH MEAN GENE!

We’ve got the LOD/Sid/Bossman v. IRS/Jake/Disasters, although that ended up very different. Plus Undertaker challenges Hulk Hogan for the WWF title in a match that was more of a setup for Tuesday in Texas than anything. Plus we now have Bret Hart & Roddy Piper & Bulldog & Virgil v. Ric Flair & Warlord & Ted Dibiase & Mountie in a match that looked good on paper but was ruined by one of the dumbest finishes ever.

This week’s winner of the 1991 commercial break: The trailer for Highlander 2: The Quickening. Still can’t believe that was a real movie that got made for real money.

The Undertaker v. Duane Gill

Taker beats Gill down and hits him with a Black Hole slam, then follows with the flying clothesline and then the ropewalk. Tombstone finishes at 1:55 as Savage again pitches for his reinstatement so he can take care of Undertaker.
